I've told you I am Ok with legalizing MJ. I just was pointing out that edibles can be dangerous. I was just putting it out there. Didn't mean to ruffle your weed leaves.

You drink too much its dangerous. You eat too many twinkies its dangerous...

I find it funny in that report that it says marijuana contains the same things carcinogens cigarettes do but instead of causing cancer it prevents it.

A pack of cigarettes a day vs. being a habitual pot head can be a stark difference in amount of smoke actually. 20 cigarettes in a pack equals a lot of smoke and carcinogens. You need a lot less than that to get high. I'd say for someone that gets high only once a day, which would probably be considered a heavy user, only smokes the equivalent of about 1/4 to 1/2 of a cigarette judged by smoke consumed. That all equals much less carcinogens consumed.

Now the prevents it part, idk. But I do wish there were more research studying it.

I think the ultimate solution to the issue is one that we are seeing play out. Remove the federal government from the equation and let the stares decide how they will handle the legalities and sentencing. If state X wants to legalize it all then so be it. If state Y wants to prohibit everything including tobacco and alcohol then so be it. Then in 30 to 50 years when most of us will be dead or so old we won't care we can see which states strategy worked and which ones failed.

I agree but I think it calls into question the validity of the argument when they make the claim with absolute certainty that MJ doesn't cause cancer. While the volume of smoke is less with your average user, it still can cause cancer. I saw a study somewhere a few years ago that one joint was equivalent to a pack of cigarettes as far as carcinogens go. I guess maybe some of the bad stuff gets filtered out with a cigarette. My point is that neither is particularly good for you much the same as Newt pointed out that Twinkies and alcohol is.

Edit: I'll also point out that weed has the potential to make you eat more Twinkies too. :)

I do. I have gotten into craft beer. I could probably stop drinking alcohol whenever I wanted to. I actually don't have a problem with marijuana being legal for medicinal purposes.

To be honest, I am not totally against legalizing it altogether for personal use. But you just can't simply say that crime will go down and save taxpayers a bunch of money. Humans break the law regardless of the rules. Legalizing it would just pose different issues.

It will save taxpayers money. I mean we would have to bury our head in the sand to believe otherwise. This is bad deduction..All marijuana users are criminals, so if we legalize marijuana they will therefore just commit different crimes?

Okay, you lost me at the beginning. There is no cure for all these maladies that big pharmaceutical companies are hiding...

That is about the same conspiracy theory as Oil and Auto industries are hiding the 300mpg car that never breaks down...

You should read the position statement by the AAP ( American Academy of Pediatrics).
MJ has been legal in enough states for actual true research to start giving real data. Pot and maturing brains are a bad combination. Here is the issue that I have. The brain matures into the late 20s...

I could actually care less about MJ being legal or not. I don't like the uninformed argument that it's harmless.

Also, some of the urban myths about MJ have been proven false. No change with glaucoma at all...
The substance that helps with pain relief is a different substance than the part that gets you stoned. No one wants it that way. :hi:

If people feel so strongly about it, move to a state where it's already legal. Or make the change in the state you live in. Hard work but possible.

For the record. I don't believe it's harmless..my position is that MJ is not as harmful as alcohol, and almost nobody believes in prohibiting alcohol again..Do you? It is massive hypocrisy for MJ to be outlawed while alcohol is legal...Do you drink alcohol?

😂 "heroin recreational"

No such thing. One and done

That is actually not true in every case, I knew a lot of rec users of hard drugs, weekend party freaks who never got addicted to anything. I actually hated doing heroin by itself, I always mixed meth with it. It's a miracle I'm still alive. It is mostly true however.

If meth was made legal would you argue for heroin to be legalized as well? Massive hypocrisy and all.
