UGA fans are most familiar with Pruitt, Sherrer, Rocker and Friend. I doubt many UGA fans would call any of those coaches rejects. Most UGA fans believe Pruitt is a really good DC and DB coach. Sherrer was thought to have been a solid LB coach. Rocker is well respected, but probably doesn't coach technique as good as some other DL coaches. Love his coaching demeanor though. Yes he missed on some big in state kids, but the kids that he got to commit never de-committed. Friend was thought to be a solid OL coach by most UGA fans. He just didn't recruit or develop the O-Line the way Pittman's doing; but few do. If he can recruit Morris and Wright and develop them into 1st or 2nd round draft picks then that will turn out to be a good hire.

I can understand why Kirby would not want Pruitt. Pruitt is the better coach at least on Defense and Kirby feels threatened by him. My understanding the reason he left for FSU besides the move up to DC is because of Kirby. Pruitt is a players coach and plays way to loose for Kirby. Kirby has a tendency to tighten up and one of the reason I was very happy for the trade-off for Pruitt as our DC when Kirby left for UGA. There are many coaches who could step in and do what Kirby has done with that roster and the instate recruits who have mainly went to UGA forever. But in the end I think Pruitt will be the better HC and personally would rather have Pruitt when Saban retires then Dabo. Yes some UA fans do not agree because Pruitt is not seasoned yet but give him time.

Holy smokes, what's this world coming to? We have rival fans making better posts than our own "fans"....... And they're using common sense!! I just don't get it, must be a time warp.

Just curious , how do you know Rocker doesn't coach technique as well as others ? Are you somehow an insider and has first-hand experience watching DL coaches teach technique in practices or is this just hearsay ?

Keep in mind they are only contradicting this Nationdom character who apparently is not looked upon favorably in this forum. Not to mention, most Bama fans and UGA fans I know actually liked Pruitt because he has a set and isn't afraid to roll the dice. The 5 or 6 missed onside kicks in the middle of games proves that.

I'm guessing a fan that talks down coaches that leaves and praises coaches who are currently still with the team. Probably no different than any other fan. Sherrer, Rocker, and Friend were highly thought of in coaching and recruiting circles.

Butch wanted a yes man. Again our offense was fine under CJC, it was the defense that held that team back. I'd take Chaney over Helton all day. Just because Kirby didn't want Pruitt don't mean nothing. Maybe they didn't get along, or maybe it was the lack of experience Pruitt had

Need I remind you how Chaney was called out for running the same plays over and over and some bad hits being laid on our running backs because the defense saw the plays coming. Remember the announcers began to call Chaney out on TV for running those same plays over and over. People have short memories

Pittman is a good o-line coach, but he's had the benefit of his players being in a real S&C program...something Friend did not have. Richt had let that go downhill his last 4-5 years.

TW have you heard anything about some Bama boosters being upset at Pruitt for going to a rival school? Heard some talk of it in my circles and saw it posted here I think, wondering if that has been discussed where you are.

Many say they think it’s a reason he won’t be considered, which seems silly if he’s successful.
