Just curious , how do you know Rocker doesn't coach technique as well as others ? Are you somehow an insider and has first-hand experience watching DL coaches teach technique in practices or is this just hearsay ?
Comments from the players about how much more detailed Tray Scott is when it comes to teaching technique. Kirby kept Rocker on for one year and then replaced him with a DL coach who teaches the principles of Pete Jenkins. DL guys like Atkins were clearly employing techniques preached by Jenkins in 2017. Rushing yards per game: 2016/141.1....2017/112.6. The rushing stats in 2017 and 2018 (128.4) would be even better if the 2nd and 3rd string players weren't playing significant minutes in several games where Georgia had big leads. Not sure how Tennessee's run defense was this year, but Georgia's run defense improved a lot after Kirby hired a Pete Jenkins protege.

He was also a miserable NFL coach for the Titans. But that’s obviously a different job.

TW have you heard anything about some Bama boosters being upset at Pruitt for going to a rival school? Heard some talk of it in my circles and saw it posted here I think, wondering if that has been discussed where you are.

Many say they think it’s a reason he won’t be considered, which seems silly if he’s successful.

No but I am sure a few may be but boosters are boosters and probably moreso with how respected he was and the boosters did not want to replace him. Have to remember they jumped at him to come back once Kirby left. In the end when Saban leaves they are going to go after the best coach they can get. I think they will go get a coach that knows the system, understands the layout of UA, and that can recruit. But if Pruitt can get UT back not sure he would leave. UA is UA but what Saban is doing no one will ever repeat. Yes UA can still continue to compete for titles post-Saban but UT has been there before as well. UA was in a similar spot prior to Saban with the 3 Mike's.

Sounds like Dabo is getting burned out in Clemson. Might be ready for that Bama job soon...

Dabo has a strong message for Clemson fans who say USC game felt like a loss

I hope Dabo is not Saban's replacement to be honest. I just do not think he can sustain a program long term. Yes CU was great with D Watson but post Watson not so. The ACC is not great and got exposed last year in the CFB playoffs. This year that so called great defense gave up 930yds and 8 TDs to 2 QBs from middle of the pack SEC teams.

I agree. Which is why I really hope he’s the replacement ;)

Can not be any worse now then how some complain about not leaving starters in, not using timeouts, etc. It would amaze you with how successful the program is that people still find ways to be concerned. Now most UA fans understand we will not replace Saban and are enjoying the ride.

I would rather take a chance on an up and coming coach then Dabo. I do hope we get a shot at Pruitt but again if he does what many thinks he can do at UT I doubt he leaves.
Would be quite the meltdown for Vol fans if he did well and left for Bama. Hopefully he sticks around awhile.

Who else would be a target after Dabo and Pruitt?

I’m sure you will target a HC but Tosh checks every box you just said. Your thoughts on Webb?

You are insanely spoiled if you'd rather have anyone over Dabo. And you are insanely spoiled from having Saban.
He’s right that no one will replicate Saban’s success and you never want to be the guy after the guy. That pressure will be too much regardless who gets the job. Which I’m sure TW knows this, but the word around the Waterfall Club is Nick wants one more title than Bear before he retires, he’s currently tied.

Would be quite the hire if Mack lands Kliff.
Both imho, Chizik is an excellent DC and recruiter. That would be a heck of a staff and coach in waiting for either coordinator. All 3 guys can recruit so recruiting in N.C. just got harder for all schools.

Makes sense. Hope he wins this year then and retires the next day. Dabo takes over the day after that.

Yes, but they instantly become "recycled Head Coach U" at that point. It would be hard to point to many schools that had success doing it this way. Might be worth a try though.

So, since then the question was whether you had first hand knowledge or just hearsay, and you provided hearsay, I guess you took your usual 250 word answer to say “hearsay”?

But please, take another opportunity to tell us how great UGA is.

I am so going to enjoy watching UGAs dreams get smashed once again. It hurts I have to pull for the Gumps, but the calculus works out.

With today’s news, I’d be surprised if Wright wasn’t a top target for N.C., Mack Brown is known as a great recruiter and Wright has been to N.C. more than any other school. Still think Tn but N.C. could make this interesting.

Apparently Mack is targeting Kingsbury as OC and Chizik will be DC.

Mack will definitely hurt Clemson on the recruiting trail in NC.

I doubt Tosh would be a top target for UA with very little experience. I am afraid Swanson is right if Saban were to retire in the next year it would be Dabo but I think Saban has at least 3 more years and by then Dabo will not be a hot commodity.

This is where a Pruitt type HC comes in. Someone not afraid to take on the challenge of what was there before them. But if Pruitt is given the chance to build up the UT program I do not see him leaving. I know he is from AL and played there but I do not see that being the pull it was for Kirby to UGA or even possibly Dabo to UA in the future.
