I can see this going the direction of everyone having this electronic ID that, not only has your personal info, but what vaccines you’ve received. If you haven’t received a covid or flu vaccine, you’re not allowed to travel anywhere. Scary stuffI'm glad I won't be around in 30 years. I fear for my children.
Personal liberty is eroding by the day. Microchipping is just around the corner.I can see this going the direction of everyone having this electronic ID that, not only has your personal info, but what vaccines you’ve received. Or not be able buy, sell or trade either!!!
Heck naw..I know it doesn't work....look I know it sounds wishy washy, but I believe in capitalism and socialism both to a degree. Unregulated capitalism just becomes rapacious greed at the expense of everybody else except the 1% (see the robber baron, industrial sweatshop, coal amd mineral mining companies, and Standard oil company age if you want to see what that looks like) but overregulation strangles productivity, and I do not believe in rewarding laziness...which we do a massive amount of now.Awww, mcgill is this your first time having someone tell you trickle-down doesn’t work?![]()

I just am not very far left or right of center, but I straight up hate communism and Bernie style socialism/neo-communism with a hot red passion, and I also hate the greedy bastards that rape the working man and environment.
I was really just teasing you..It’s okay to acknowledge something doesn’t work the way it should on paper; doesn’t mean I prefer communism or naziism or anything else (I wish healthcare was socialized more than it is now, the advantages are pretty clear in a pandemic with 6m people losing their jobs and healthcare or whatever). The point is nothing is perfect and everything is open to critique, capitalism included. We can do that without name-calling, I would think.
That is what I have been saying from the beginning, the spread of this disease is inevitable, and people that think we are "stopping" it are blind, or just misguided..These questions need to be answered

I don't have insurance, and I can't afford it...mainly because of Obamacare, I always had affordable health insurance through my employers before that garbage.People shouldn't rely on the government for their healthcare or a company. People should be responsible for their own healthcare. It's not anyone's responsibility to pay for another's healthcare.
Also, that Italian model for socialized medicine really worked well.
Sorry you are going through that, McGill. Praying that you get some relief.I don't have insurance, and I can't afford it...mainly because of Obamacare, I always had affordable health insurance through my employers before that garbage.
The only people it helps are the poverty level unemployed, it totally screws people like me that work but barely make enough to get by.
My wife has several chronic issues that force us to carry it on her...if it is between me or her, I am going to take care of here.
I however am completely falling apart..I can barely get around, and I have started having some kind of issue with my guts that is completely freaking me out...and there is no good answer for me...I guess I will just go till I drop.
They have intriguing thoughts. But I question how well they can maintain fidelity and decentralized verifiability and trust. Then again, blockchain could very well be up to the task. This is the very thing it could be best at doing. An immutable ledger of information.

BUT...mitigation was\is needed to stall Covid-19 to a pace that is manageable by health care workers..
BUT..at some point (which we have also said from the beginning, but it tends to piss off a lot of people) this stalling tactic becomes untenable...It CANNOT go on indefinitely, and once 99 out of every 100 people figure out that this thing isn't any more dangerous to them than a million other things that you could die from every day (like driving)...they will lose the fear that is helping the gubmint keep them in line, and say eff this bull...
So then what? Is the gubmint gonna start using draconian measures against Americans to force them to stay in? How is that going to work?

We all already have a DI (if you use the internet). I'd rather control it than not. Better standards are indeed needed.
I think it, or something like it, was also co-opted by some nutty conspiracy theorists much more recently and out of nowhere, just bc of Covid.
They also say 5g networks spread covid![]()
I believe sometime in May the method of opening back up will end up being the President's committee recommending that the elderly and those compromised continue to self isolate until a vaccine is available. They will also recommend everyone else go back to normal life (business and schools) except for a couple hot spots (if any still exist). However, they will recommend for the people to still protect the most vulnerable by keeping distance, but providing help to them. Guessing they will also keep the borders locked down for an extended period.Government is aware of this and is ramping up testing. Once widespread testing is available we will get back to normal. I predict June.
The small business stimulus is a big deal to help. If companies utilize it correctly then the economy will get back on line quickly. I went from being laid off to 2 days a week, now back up to 4 and have been told I will be back payed for every hour missed. This is made possible due to smart, ethical ownership and the small business loans/grants.
The major hurdle I see in people getting back to work is childcare. No school, having home learning causes issues. Daycares need to be near the top of the list for immediate testing so parents have somewhere to take their kids. The govt. also needs to supplement that system so it's affordable.
Who wants to spend most of their paycheck to have someone else raise their kids?
Idk, just surprised people could fail basic science so badly. Think a few celebs regurgitated it and, in the day and age when basketball players mention things like flat earth and Jayz is illuminati...well, followers grasp onto it and spread it with zero thought.I've seen that 5g conspiracy several places. Who the hell came up with that and what is their logic behind it?

I'll just blame it on the pedos over at 4chan...they seem to be a constant source of conspiracy jobs these days. The cancer of the internet for 2 decades and running.

The Governors of each state will have the final say if they follow the recommendations of the committee and actually open their states back up. Guessing most D Governors will keep states locked down longer and most R Governors will open back up when Feds recommend.
There will continue to be more cases of COVID-19 after the country opens back up, but nothing that is not manageable by the hospitals. There will also continue to be a debate on whether we should have opened back up so early all the way through the November election.
"In capitalism, man exploits man. In socialism, it's vice versa." - Milton FriedmanI'm a bit late on the socialism vs capitalism debate, but neither is the problem and the neither is the solution. I have witnessed first hand pure socialism work beautifully, in the Kibbutzim of Israel. I have witnessed pure capitalism work beautifully in small businesses who value and sacrificially support their people. The key in both was a value system that values giving over greed. When both systems fail, it is due to greed...whether rich refusing to share with poor, or poor refusing to allow others to become rich...it's all greed. When we put others before ourselves either system will work well. The systems aren't broken, people are.
There is a Solution to broken people though, and He is risen!
