No doubt. Love yall Vol family. I don't take any of this personally...except the "diehard democrat" 😉 I just called out Pelosi the other day and said I didn't agree with them stuffing the stimulus bill. Anyone calling Trump a racist for the travel ban is a goon. I have voted Ind half of my life. I really don't care for the party (I can't imagine anyone loving either party), they just happen to align much more closely with my ideals.

I'm more than happy to say when I think that side is stupid too. Now, let's hear you all poo poo on some repubs or say something Trump has done recently you disagree with.
It could be cathartic 😉

Newt can just say he hates everybody

I absolutely do not like that the national debt continues to increase even under Trump. I have been giving him somewhat of a pass until he got the military built back up, but he absolutely has to begin getting it under control. But now my shot at Congress as they need to stop trying to cram pork into the virus relief packages.

Ummmm what? Yes I know it was the handgun my father decided to use to take his own life. I kind of get the sense you think guns kill people. Guns don't. Bad people kill people by using guns and numerous other weapons. I don't blame that gun for taking my dad's life. I may be wrong in what you think and that's fine.

Why would I not? It was my dad's revolver and had a nice holster. Yes I absolutely want it back.

I handle cases involving seizures of property, but I absolutely hate trying to get firearms back. Agencies just don’t want to put guns back on the street for any reason.

I suggest you hire an attorney to send a letter. If that doesn’t work, you can file a small claim for its return. No reason why they should keep it as long as they have completed their investigation and determined cause of death. So sorry to read about this.

Not sure it necessarily if it is because it is a weapon. My oldest grandson committed suicide in Dec-18 (not with a gun). The police confiscated his cellphone and laptop, which he had password-protected. 16 months later my daughter has not gotten either item back. She talked to a detective back before Christmas who told her TBI had never been able to get around his blocks (he was a clever kid), but they had determined suicide was indeed the cause anyway, and also that there was no abuse that caused it) after talking to friends and school administration. But at any rate the detective told her he had no idea when TBI would return it. My daughter hasn't really pressed the issue as I am not sure she necessarily wants the items back, and I don't really care, but I sometimes wonder if maybe they did break the passcode and some cop is using it as his/her personal laptop.
So very sorry to read that about your grandson.

Just seemed like a morbid reminder that's all, everyone grieves differently. I am well aware people kill people. Guns just make it easy.

I have a good friend who is a chancellor and handles lots of civil cases. I should have asked him about this before now. Thanks VolGee.

Yes, he is a perfect resource. Right now, there is nothing to motivate them to return it. A letter might, but a claim does. Their legal counsel gets involved and asks about the case and why it’s being kept. Good luck!

Neither party much cares for the debt and interest payments these days. One day it will eventually take up a majority of discretionary spending and people will take notice and it will be too late. Politicians really need to listen to the GAO a lot more.

Like many other issues, early mitigation helps a lot. Govt accountants were talking about this as an urgent cause in the 70s and 80s. Once it is too late, the cost becomes extraordinary. I'm afraid it will come to this with national debt interest payments.

And it doesn't even take hurtful austerity/anti-investment measures to achieve. Merely get close to a balanced budget and gdp (hopefully revenue) growth and inflation do the rest to make it manageable and less costly over time (in real dollars).

Actually paying down the debt is another thing and will unlikely ever happen, short of extinguishing debts through war reparations of some sort.

Regarding the Coronavirus/Wuhan lab reports:

There were folks out there pushing the conspiracy theory that it was a bioweapon. It's not but it did originate from a Chinese lab.

It's Hanlon's razor - never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

The next question is, to what extent do you blame China for the incompetence of a particular intern?

I doubt seriously there was any malintent involved. If the CCP's intent was to cripple the US economy then the CCP is being advised by some of the dumbest economists on the planet because China's economic fortunes are very much intertwined with the US economy. Damage the US consumer and he ain't out there purchasing Chinese-made products.

The wife and I have been looking at everything we buy for the last few weeks except for normal groceries and are going to do everything we can to not buy anything made there if possible.

More and more states reporting civil protests today over some of these stay at home orders. Ky, Va and others are getting restless. Time to get up and go in lots of places. 25% of counties in the country have zero cases. As I used to say at Nascar races, "turn em loose, Harold". Some of you Nascar fans should get that.

I just want to buy a tank and rocket launcher one day and put the tank in my front lawn and launcher out a window. Nobody effing with us then.

Bingo. That is where the conspiracy theory ends to make any sense. Infect their own, then infect their biggest purchaser. Nope. Zero sense.

I've always maintained it was a manufactured virus that was accidentally released.
