SMH...you know what my point was. People that want to kill will use anything..outlaw guns and some lunatic will still drive a tractor trailer through a crowd, or about million other ways of killing large amounts of people.

For the record on politics talk....

I (May or may not be) around it every single day. Each side has their agenda. It’s figuring out which people in which side are actually doing things to better America that matter. For individuals just claiming Democrat or Republican.... fix yourself because each of them has their evils. Vote for candidates because of what they believe and will do, not for what party they belong to.

What was confusing?

The article was on banning advertisements of non-essential items (that can still be purchased and picked up curbside). I just think it's silly. If you want to ban advertisements now too, then we are at an impasse.

Sure, you could ban everything in existence, but there are diminishing returns the more granular you get.

I haven't seen it discussed on here but what does everyone think of the proposal by a couple of Democrats that we implement a new stimulus where everyone age 16 or over gets $2k a month for 6 months with the possibility of extending to 12 months. Children get $500 and it applies to individuals making less than $130k.



Also supposed to apply to college students, people claimed as dependants and others the original didn't cover.



Is this just political posturing or something that might happen? I haven't seen it really mentioned on the news.

Democratic Party trying to buy the election and implement Communism (gov’t calling all the economic shots) at the same time. They want to introduce the concept of a minimum basic income.That is what I think.

The stimulus package will not help the economy. Bush tried it, Obama tried it, it always fails. People do not need just money, people need purpose.

The last stimulus was an obvious success. The govt profited. We gave liquidity to the capital markets (think of it as being an engine that reached a level of 0 oil and being completely stuck). Critical US businesses continued. We avoided total meltdown and recovered strongly over the next decade.

This current one should help too. It will actually create a positive return to tax receipts and GDP.

They work and that's why they keep using it, even a republican president.

But 2k/month, indefinitely, idk about. Diminishing returns and all. Would need to see more economic numbers.

That’s not communism 😂

Also giving people money will cause them to spend it and put it back into circulation within the economy. Bush and Obama’s bailout plans focused on bailing out the banks. Not the common man

You came in at the end of the discussion don't try a frontal assault after lines had been drawn.

Guns are the superior murder weapon, ask our Calvary when they had to slaughter the tribes. Gunpowder ruled the colonies. Ridiculous to argue otherwise.
