Oh my gosh. Jaw agreed with me the other day and now bignewt. Go Dark side baby. It is fun. This is what I wanted to say. Much better form than me. I just want to beat the hell out of someone and can no longer get on a football field to do it legally.

Lol. Something happened to you in the last 2 months.

Sorry for the Jake post, but here goes.

Btw not familiar with a zoo near the Biltmore. Sounds like a scam 😂 jk I know there is one East of town out past the mall.Btw all breweries are surprisingly kid and dog friendly, just in case.

Depends where you're staying or want to go (and want to spend). If you're by the Biltmore, the Red Stag (in the Bohemiam Hotel) is extremely well regarded, but pricey. Biltmore Village has a nice Mexican restaurant (Cantina). If you want to venture 5 minutes from the Biltmore and up into downtown, you'll have a lot more food options. I'm downtown, so this is mostly what I'm more familiar with.

I'll just go out on a limb and hope you like burgers. Our top burger place is Rankin Vault (pay extra for the HNG (Hickory Nut Gap Farms) meat here or anywhere else is town). Rated best burger in town multiple times. 2nd is Wicked Weed imo. 3rd is Brahmari. Actually, everything at Brahmari is really good. Across the street from them is Storm, who has won best burger in town in the past. I have yet to go there, so I can't vouch. There is also a new burger and whiskey place down the street called H&F Burgers. Think it's a chain. BurgerWorx is supposed to be good too, but haven't tried.

Pizza? Manicomio's is THE place to go. Nice location in heart of downtown with a patio. Real NY pizza. The owner used to live in a building. He's pretty wild, but slings the best pies in town.

Middle eastern - Jerusalem Cafe is our go-to spot.

MEAT - there is a Brazilian steakhouse downtown if you want meat on meat on meat. There is also Cultura, a new place from Wicked Weed. It is beside their sours brewery, Funkatorium. It is like a mix of primal meats and fondue. You even get CBD cotton candy for dessert 😁

Vegetarian/vegan - plenty of options. We don't go there.

Indian/Asian - Blue Dream Curry house is the nuts for curry and breads. Red Dim Sum imo is the best place for asian (not hibachi).

Mexican - these are out of downtown, but look for Papa's and Beer or Mama's and Beer. Same people. AWESOME Mexican. My visiting relatives always want to go back.

Oh and you'll get advice from most outsiders to go to this place called Curate. They must do really good marketing. Almost impossible to get a seat there, it is just tapas (small plates), cramped, and while good, I wouldn't say worth the hassle when good options are everywhere. Not quite a tourist trap, but not worth the hype either if only here for a day or two.

If looking for other things for the kids, I might suggest the Children's Science Museum downtown, the Mountain Play Lodge, or even the Kolo Bike Park. Idk when the Tourists (or minor league team) might play again, but that is another kid friendly option and is right downtown. Don't have kids, so don't have much else except there are lots of outdoor stuff around here.

Would also check out a roof top while here. There are 4 or 5 now, but 2 are easily the best with great views and I'm sure the kid would like seeing all the mountains from high up. First is at the AC hotel. Probably the highest and nicest. Views of downtown and some close mountains.

2nd is at the Cambria hotel and has a Cuban restaurant as part of it. Faces more towards the farther off Blue Ridge tops, which can be pretty great at sunset

And no you don't have to dress up like these people either 🤣 It isn't really that upscale lol
Tapas - Zambra
Upscale - Terrace, GPI
Mexican - Limones
Burger? - Pack's Tavern
BBQ - 12 Bones

On the mask usage - if you do it make sure you do not wear one for too long due to breathing your own Carbon Dioxide. Known to be an issue with healthcare workers with the n95's in particular. The mask captures bacteria and CO2. So limit your exposure and be sure to change out or wash if reusable. You may get sick and give something to somebody else unless you wear one 24 hours a day or remain isolated.

Anybody else find the mask wearing virtue signaling humorous in the pressers? After the last Kayleigh presser, the CNN reporter sitting in the front row ripped hers off as soon as Kayleigh left the room. She did not realize the camera was still on. Oopsie.

Good call, forgot BBQ. I'll throw in my vote for Buxton Hall, since it is both my favorite and my neighbor. Luella's is good too. Actually never been to 12 Bones, though I know it is quite popular here.

Wife has been to Limones and thought it was pretty good. Pack's has all-around good food, though none of of it has ever stood out to us .

Funny, I just said to my wife yesterday we should go to Zambra once things reopen. We literally walk in there once a month to poster for the Orange Peel, but I've never eaten there. She likes it, but also mentioned it is...just tapas. We both are ok with tapas, but prefer hearty portion sizes 😊

Typically in the offseason I focus on my other hobby of ancient coin collecting. History buffs may appreciate this new addition. This is a denarius of the Roman Republic depicting Marcus Sergius aka the first Rambo.

Roman Republic
M. Sergius Silus
AR Denarius 19mm 3.88g
Rome Mint 116-115 B.C.
Obv.: Helmeted head of Roma right; ROMA and XVI monogram behind, EX•S•C before.
Rev.: Soldier on horseback rearing left, holding sword and severed Gallic head in left hand; Q M SERGI below, [SILVS] in exergue.

“No person living, in my opinion at least, ever excelled M. Sergius, although his great-grandson, Catiline, tarnished the honours of his name. In his second campaign he lost his right hand; and in two campaigns he was wounded three and twenty times; so much so, that he could scarcely use either his hands or his feet; still, attended by a single slave, he afterwards served in many campaigns, though but an invalided soldier. He was twice taken prisoner by Hannibal, (for it was with no ordinary enemy that he would engage,) and twice did he escape from his captivity, after having been kept, without a single day's intermission, in chains and fetters for twenty months. On four occasions he fought with his left hand alone, two horses being slain under him. He had a right hand made of iron, and attached to the stump, after which he fought a battle, and raised the siege of Cremona, defended Placentia, and took twelve of the enemy's camps in Gaul. All this we learn from an oration of his, which he delivered when, in his prætorship, his colleagues attempted to exclude him from the sacred rites, on the ground of his infirmities. What heaps upon heaps of crowns would he have piled up, if he had only had other enemies! For, in matters of this nature, it is of the first importance to consider upon what times in especial the valour of each man has fallen. What civic crowns did Trebia, what did the Ticinus, what did Lake Thrasymenus afford? What crown was there to be gained at Cannæ, where it was deemed the greatest effort of valour to have escaped from the enemy? Other persons have been conquerors of men, no doubt, but Sergius conquered even Fortune herself.”

Petri dish lab test underway in Sevier County. If anybody has been here this weekend, they will know that the floodgates have opened with visitors. They are coming in from everywhere. Watch the numbers for the county - it will give everybody a good idea of what happens next nationwide since the restaurants, entertainment, national park, retail, lodging, etc. all go at 100% over the next week or two.

FWIW, LeConte Medical Center workers have been bored out of their minds. Up to today, there have only been 68 positives out of over 3000 tests and only 4 active cases who are self quarantined. Yet, people cancelled their surgeries and treatments out of fear. The two people who have died in the county were older and had serious pre-existing conditions. We knew one. To code it COVID was a bit ridiculous. She died "with" the disease, not "of" the disease. It was a miracle she had lived as long as she had.

Texas also doubled its testing since it reopened, which would have some effect on increased cases. It also should be noted that the state's hospitalization rate has continued to flatten, which further suggests those testing positive with the increased testing aren't needing to be hospitalized.

Folks - PLEASE read this. The sourcing from John Solomon's news group is always impeccable.

Antibody tests continue to suggest COVID-19 far more widespread, less deadly than initially thought

I have been posting this for weeks and probably two months. Herd immunity is happening. Far greater exposure than the "experts" thought with far less mortality. Nobody is discounting the serious nature of it as it applies to contagiousness. But the mortality is targeted to and dominated by those over 60 years old and who have depressed immune systems. When the reality is that over 20% of the population will have been proven to already having exposure proven in their bodies - it changes the reality of what is reported by the MSM and the Fauci's of the world. With the opening of society and the vaccine use at a later date we are going to hit herd immunity on this thing relatively soon.

The key is for people to take the antigen test for antibodies. The researchers can then extrapolate real data that means something instead of the convoluted mess that is being presented.

Not enough fear man. Not enough influence over November. People don’t want to see that

Who the **** are you to say because he's wearing a mask he is also going to blow snot on food to get people sick. It's a damn virus and people die and we've ruined an economy over it when we have had a very small bump in overall expected deaths during these couple of months from what would've been predicted at this time a year ago. People over 70 are more likely to die from this just like they are more likely to die from the flu, a broken hip or heart disease and I could go on and on. Why? Because 76 is life expectancy and when you get to 70, you are getting pretty darn close to that and virus' have been killing elderly people for decades because our immune systems are not the same as we get older. We will all die and if you are that scare of maskless people then don't leave you from door ever again because several other things are going to get you. People wearing mask while driving alone in their cars and passing out and wrecking cars which can also kill people is just freaking ridiculous. I am so sick of all this ****.
Whatever dude. Just make sure your not inconvenienced. Hate for you to have to do something that puts you out. Who the **** are you to go spreading your nasty ass germs on everything? GTFO with your petty me, me, me attitude.

Why don't you answer the questions I posed bass?

Go ahead.

My wife and I went to Zambras. Food was delicious. Shared about four things, had a couple of drinks. I will say this though. My wallet was a lot lighter and I kid you not stopped at McDonald's on the way back to JC because we were both still hungry. Ha.

We used to eat at the lab quite a bit too and watch games at the Bier Garden if we'd go on a weekend Tennessee was playing in the fall.

Being a zombie rocking the newborn at 4 AM each night has caused me to buy random things lol. Picked up this gem of my favorite basketball player last night, Larry Legend. Wish I was alive when he was playing the game. And no this jersey is not anywhere in the league of what Dr Loomis has😂😂 it was just a good deal.
