Recruiting forum off topic thread (no politics, covid, or hot button issues)

Glad for you although grace is found in many other ways, depends on the faith. Who is to say which is right or wrong?

lol

Again... Who's to say which is right or wrong?

Obviously you.

I did not call Christianity an arrogant fallacy. Believing everyone who doesn't agree with you is going to burn in hell...is. can you not have one without the other?

You must be immortal.

You may want to just step back and uncoil the knots that your relativistic "everybody is right (except the people I *really* disagree with)" worldview has tied you into. Step back, worry a little less about us, and get your head straight.

Wow. I'm not worried about you, you seem to have it all figured out. I'm not saying I'm right, I have no clue as I am but a mortal man. I only take umbrage at those who tell others they are wrong. I wish you understood that distinction. Oh well, good night.

Yet you tell others they are wrong constantly.

You literally just said that belief in hell is untrue. That is LITERALLY saying that you're right and any Christian that believes in Hell is wrong. All while alluding to the idea that none of us can know the truth and literally saying that all belief structures are equal (except Christianity, which is wrong, and you are correct on that).

Like I said, friend... This relativistic, "everybody gets atrophy, no one is more right than anyone else, and no one can ascertain true truth" worldview of yours has left you with some holes to fill and some knots to untangle.

Having pointed that out, I'll leave you to do so. Or not.

He claims to be a libertarian live and let live kind of guy, but he constantly demeans people for their beliefs at every opportunity. He is a hypocrite.

I misclicked on this thread by accident. Warning to y’all, if you stare into the darkness of the crack long enough it begins to stare back 🤢🤮

You are off here. It just feels that way because I am one black sheep surrounded by a flock of white.

That's the problem with philosophies of relativity, isn't it?

"No one can know the truth, and I know it!"

"You shouldn't tell someone else what they shouldn't do!"

"I don't believe anyone can know the truth. Telling someone that your truth is more valid than theirs is inherently wrong in my mind. That does not mean your truth isn't right as again, I don't know."

You owe me a new monitor since I just spit my coffee out.

And again... You took it upon yourself to try to drop a lot of "truth" in this thread, just to retreat to the premise that no one can know truth. I have a hint for you... If you enter debate with someone, and your lead-off hitter is the statement that you don't believe you can know truth... No thinking person will give you a shred of credibility. You've just undermined that.

It's worse than admitting you're broke and then offering to pay the tab.

If you're going to continue posting in the recruiting forum you should probably switch to a phone with a protective case, especially if you're drinking coffee.

Well that's just "your" truth, now isn't it?

You call it "holier than thou" when someone acts as though they believe their beliefs, as you act as though you believe your belief. You really are a piece of work, sir.

And... allergic to your point that people should generally be left to do what they want? I affirmed that point in the discussion long ago. You seem to still be trying to smuggle in the idea that Christians are under orders to "kill the infidels".

If your "point" is that we should be afraid of people's opinions and beliefs, then yes. I refuse that.

If it's that no one can ascertain truth, I also reject that, as it forces us into untenable lives and internally inconsistent actions as we by definition live and interact as though we know truth. The act of claiming that we can't know truth carries the very statement's defeater within the statement. It is irrational.

When you started this debate by calling religion fallacious arrogance, it was a truth statement that defeated the rest of your retreat.

Excuse me, I was wrong. You are a hypocrite that thinks they are better than everyone else because you don't need the "crutch" of God. You must be saddle sore from hanging out on that high horse 24/7.

In his defense, I don't think that's hypocritical. I generally tend to a libertarian outlook on life, and also (obviously) think there are beliefs that deserve to be demeaned. Everyone thinks there are beliefs that deserve to be demeaned. The hypocrisy comes in chastising others for doing so, as you do so.

which Im not doing but whateves, agree to disagree. "Hypocrite" is a word that is loved to be thrown around when someone cannot fathom the subtext of an arguement.

Word salad.

"Hypocrite" is a very clear word with a very clear definition that has been proven to fit by the internal inconsistencies of your multi-quotes.

You started the entire thing by claiming that Jesus' commands are religious "fallacy" and "(false) hubris". When I pressed you on that, you doubled down on relative truth offered as truth. On the belief that no one should tell others their beliefs are wrong, while telling Christians that their beliefs are wrong. You dug yourself deeper at every turn by living out internal inconsistencies to battle the idea that you are acting out internal inconsistencies.

I suggest again that your best bet is to retreat and work out the holes in your worldview that have been easily and plainly exposed.

"Holier than thou" is a phrase that is loved to be thrown around when one is losing a discussion with a Christian.

And I'll reiterate that I didn't start the discussion with you in an effort to dissect your worldview. I weighed in by discussing the internals of the Christian worldview with someone else, and you thought it a good idea to come in and set things straight for the gallery.

My genuine desire is that you have a good day, and that the points against you cause you to rethink some things.
