Recruiting forum off topic thread (no politics, covid, or hot button issues)

I don't think I am just as arrogant in my defense, but will prayerfully consider it and apologize if so. I believe the Bible and admit that my beliefs are "faith", although I believe the object of that faith to be well founded.

Such diversions aside, you're claiming that God doesn't exist because of some "catch-22" in the Biblical message. If the Bible says that He's omnipotent and loving, and yet He sends people to Hell, then the Bible's message is a contradiction and disproves God. No?

Well, what study have you put into this to make you such a powerful theologian to have overturned thousands of years of theology with such a new and novel "dilemma"?

A few questions:

What was God's ultimate plan for the Universe?

What was His highest ideal for the Universe?

When the Bible says that God is "love", what is the Biblical definition of "love" that defines Him?

When God sends someone to Hell, what is His motivation for having done so?

The answers to these would begin to answer that dilemma. I'll give you first shot at answering them if you'd like to discuss the dilemma in more depth. Or, I can offer my thoughts on them if you truly are interested in continuing the conversation.

Thanks.
Thank you for picking up the discussion I left off on! There definitely are Christians out there that know much more than myself, but I also believe (Know) that Christianity is based on faith and without it, you are lost. I just left the conversation alone due to not wanting to hijack this thread. Once again, thank you for continuing to spread the word of God and our Savior Jesus Christ! God bless you!

I'm not sure that changing anyone's mind is the defining goal of theological discussion. In Jesus' parable, a large portion of the ground would prove unproductive, and yet the farmer was still told to cast seed indiscriminately, without soil samples. It would be a sad thing to withhold seed from receptive soil because you'd assumed what would or wouldn't happen to the seed.

There's an old story about a monk that went out and shared the gospel. He came back and updated his superior, downcast. "I shared the gospel with everyone I met, and it just ran off them without penetrating, like water from a duck's back."

His senior replied, "And neither is it the water's fault."

With that said, I believe I understand your point and concern.

(ETA: Also note how often Jesus publicly debated theology for the benefit of the crowd, as opposed to any expectations for the one He was debating.)

Saban will have a stroke on the sidelines before he ever retires.
I don’t see you much over here. You finally get bored with the FF? Good to see you here. Hubby still deployed? Sorry, I’ve not kept up and just curious. It’s always nice to see another female over here. They’re all, uh, nicely need help 🙂. Especially Weezer.

Lol I haven’t been in the FF much either lol. I venture into the other forums depending on the season. A lot has happened over the past couple years. My husband came back from deployment in Dec 2020 lol. He’s since gotten out of the army and we moved to Wyoming 🙂 How have you been?

What part of Wyoming? I lived in Gillette for a couple years.

If you actually ventured over to the baseball forum once in awhile, you would have seen her there, Granny.

I’m still confused on how that is a positive thing. Your getting curb stomped but keep playing hard!
funny thing is Tennessee had 38 points by the 2nd qtr.

Yet the game ended 45-20. We had them 35-0 at one point.

Then in the end of 1st half into the 2nd half....Tennessee punted FOUR times....
USCjr outscores us 20-10 after the 35-0 build.

For almost one half of football it was like OMG we can play with or beat anybody. Then...
Then for over 2 qtrs it was absolute trash offensive football. Evans got hurt because Heupel was force feeding him so we could stay on the field. If we're running regular tempo, that's fine, but not at our super speed.

Twice during the game Heupel fed Evans the ball 3 straight plays in like 1 min...
Surprise surprise Evans got hurt. Lack of creativity ...in stints..along with lack of depth is why we went
7-6.

Offensive coaching still needs to be better, as well getting defensive depth

In the Arkansas game the year we won the national title, they gave Travis Henry the ball 7 straight times in the hurry up offense. We scored and won the game in one of the most memorable games in UT history. You can't blame pace or giving a RB the ball multiple plays in a row for Evans getting injured. It's not like he got 40 carries that game or something. It's part of the game and injuries happen. Does it help to slow the pace of the defense still knows you're running the football? The hope is that you can catch the misaligned or someone out of positron and break a big run, but not stop the clock with an incomplete pass.

I think and I maybe wrong that Heupel most of the time goes with the offense that gives us the best chance to be productive but in that specific instance we were trying to melt the clock and we didn’t really have the personnel or experience in doing it. Jmo.

You and others don't seem to remember that sometimes our hyperspeed hurt or own players. Yeah it throws the defense off, but it physically effects us too

To add context.
He was gimping after the 2nd carry, and then coach immediately told him to line up for 3rd carry.

Henry was tougher than your average backz and that Hurry up was not close to what we do. It was a no-huddle but it wasn't break neck speed like we run it. Also...who was blocking for Henry vs Evans in 2021.

You made the case for me with your final statement. Last year, we were hurting for depth and overall experience. It's easy to second guess the coaches after the fact. If Henry hadn't scored in that Arkansas game, running 7 times in a row would have been judged as one of the worst coaching decisions in UT football history. Our offense runs at that same breakneck speed everyday single day at practice. If Evans didn't feel like he could go again, then he needed to tap out, or just drop to the ground and get the injury time out. That is presence of mind that players have to have just like being aware of down and distance.

Great point. That was an absolutely dominant drive. Everyone remembers the fumble but that drive won the game. Henry x7. He just kept getting stronger every snap.

It was a 3rd and 1. And coach wanted to line up quickly and convert before the defense could line up.
Evans got hit for no gain and they punted.

They were struggling for that entire half to move the football again, and coach wanted to steal a 1st down if he could. They punted 4 times in row...four!

But since you don't believe anything I say ever, just watch the game for yourself...
