I will just say that French Canadians are among the most arrogant SOBs on the planet. And, from what I can see, they have absolutely nothing to be arrogant about.

The whole French Connection.

But the anglophone Canadians/Canada is pretty awesome and nice. Pleasant...I think that describes them well. There's good reason it's easier to travel abroad as a "Canadian"...

Queen Elizabeth was a uniting force for the entire country. Tell me who in the US can do that. I'll wait.
So basically she was a regulating agent with immense instituational knowledge...

Some might call her a deep state operative here 😅

But fr our judicial...legislative branches...executive committee members that can last over time, etc all provide stabilizing factors and institutional knowledge.

It's a different form, but I don't see the queen's function as unique and worse-yet she was maybe 10% of pragmatic use and 90% just a royal/celebrity.

Furthermore, look at the larger structure. Ok, maybe the queen (just 1 individual) provides some stabilizing factor and source of institutional knowledge, but what about all the other dozen+ family members? The system, as a whole, is a complete drain. Plus the concept itself is just silly and degrading to any thinking individual.

They aren't special...people just buy their BS. Not us as Americans of course 😁

Nothing more American than telling cultures 10 times our age they govern wrong!

When are people going to learn that NOTHING is "free"?

This is also true. My point was that we need to be more unified but we are becoming more divisive with each other by the day.

I have often thought that we need a good solid 3rd party in this country. The professional politicians who exist in the bloated forms of the current two parties are incentivized to push as hard as they can to the extremes of either side just for re-election purposes.

We need a party that pulls a little bit from the Democrats, a little bit from the Republicans, and captures the spirit of the Vols. I bet that would get a majority of the country behind it, who are after all, more in the middle on most actual issues than their identified parties declare to be.
