Recruiting forum off topic thread (no politics, covid, or hot button issues)

Which has nothing to do with recruiting.
It has as much to do with recruiting as Kasey Funderberg sideline reporting for the radio. Send the apology and it blows over if you have the guts to let it.

The person that immediately went to find bad tweets is a bigger POS than Kasey could be.

no.

Absolutely, but teenagers do and say really dumb things. And now half of the dumb things they say in person also end up being tweeted, posted, etc 😂
Kids are stoopid. They do stoopid stuff all the time. You shouldn't lose your job because you did something stoopid as a kid. Did she tweet something stoopid? I haven't seen it so I guess so from opinions of people that did see it. But, is she really a racist or did she just do something stoopid when she was becoming an adult?

But she was fired from her job for something she said before she had that job when she was a teenager. How about letting her acknowledge and apologize for the mistake instead? Everyone makes mistakes. People can mature.

Agree, people definitely can mature and everyone does make mistakes.

And maybe some jobs would let her do that. But not this one, as is the business’s right, isn’t it?

To be fair though, the cancel culture power on normal people is fairly new (last 6 years?) I'm sure she didn't remember the tweets.

If I was her boss, I'd talk to her about it, have her scrub it, make an apology post and move on. If the post was recent, then that's a different story.

"I was hacked" is also used a lot...but she's not Kevin Durant so maybe she can't go that route?

It's a metaphor for her career. So, yes, she was.

A business doesn’t have to risk their own reputation for an employee, especially in an at-will employment environment.

Doesn’t mean they led the employee to slaughter.

Agreed on all that, but that’s not what I’m saying. I’m just saying it’s incredibly easy to not find yourself in this particular situation, regardless of how we think it should be handled.

I think this is a very important point that at least here in TN has to be remembered.

Vol Network had something brought to them that they didn't want to deal with so being an at-will state they simply terminated the employee involved with said issue.

The police acted based on one guy's unsubstantiated claims. Tank no commented and immediately retained counsel. UT swiftly investigated, reviewed the evidence, evaluated all sides of the story and felt the circumstances didn't warrant the charges filed. So Tank wasn't suspended by UT, allowing him to remain with the team while the student conduct process was completed.

He was cleared by the university, but will not play without admin approval. And while UT and counsel have been working to have the felony charge reduced or dismissed, that has been slow going. The legal hold up is not on UT's side, but the "unavailable to play" is.

Is the “victim” white? Just curious.
