Sorry, I'm an old fossil from the days when they still taught American history. That was a play on a campaign promise by Herbert Hoover. "A chicken in every pot." Obviously that was during a period when politicians were not quite as exorbitant in the things they promised to provide in exchange for votes.

We already waste them through cropping. I blame all the veggie eaters maybe if you could attract them and then farm them. Similar to foraging, it's basically free calories sitting out there. I can't hate on those that live straight "off the fat of the land". Very old school, the way of our ancestors. Better people than me lmao

I'm assuming you're just a spring chicken who knows we have to understand the past to avoid repeating mistakes.

Well... official "farms" and product production might defeat the purpose if industrial, creating packaging, shipping, etc. The process.

Was thinking more individually, like foragers but with a slight technological advancement of something that attracts them to "farm" them locally.

The cow thing is certainly low hanging fruit. Reduction is probably far easier for most of us than abstinence. My mom is very religious and has taken us being almost a full time pescatarian...though eats meat sometimes. I find it very noble and have reached her level from time to time, but not as disciplined. Lab grown meat may change everything...if scales of economy can ever reach the right price point (or even lower?).
