That’s what I’m saying. He’s not playing. No way you make that fast of a progression.
I think he's gonna play, but at the very least there's no way he'll be able to make some of throws he normally makes.

Was listening to the Erik Ainge show and he was talking about how he felt when he had that same injury.

He was saying something like, there are certain throws where you're used to your arm being just able to make, so you try and then it just doesn't work because you're injured. Or you really tweak the injury. Then if he falls on it wrong he'll feel it.

I mean everything you google says this injury lasts four to six weeks.

Yeah he's an elite athlete, but he's also an athlete that uses that shoulder extensively.

He'll need major drugs.

i think a few things are being overlooked with so much emphasis being put on "bryce or no bryce". the line of scrimmage is still what matters most and Bama still has advantages on both sides against most everyone they're going to play, including Tennessee. but....i do think that gap, based on production from this season, isn't as wide as it's been over the past 15 years.

to me, this game is determined by TN's O line and Bama's front 7, regardless of who starts at QB. because at the end of the day if we're going to win, it's going to be because we've afforded ourselves the opportunity to play OUR game. and that is going to be why that's the match up that matters the most. if the back up starts, then we need to win that match up to do what we did to LSU, or at least try to anyway. and if it's Bryce, then we may see a shootout, so we'll need to be able to score, a lot, quickly. I believe CJH when he says over and over again "it's about US, and how we prepare, and how we execute". so i don't think, ultimately, it matters who the QB is for Bama. it shouldn't change our path to victory, really.

that said, i won't discount the difference between the two QB's for Bama, i'm just not 100% sure that's what matters the most when you start looking at the match ups. it's just the biggest name/story of the week, and classic misdirection. and i just don't care about Bama's perceived problems....i just don't. lol. the only thing that should matter to us, is what matters to how we're able to play our game? and the answer there is our OL vs their front 7. if we win that match up enough, we'll be able to get WR's in to those open spaces, we'll be able to run the ball and i'd imagine Hendo's legs are a factor too.

Defensively for us....i don't see a whole lot changing...we've already played 2 qb's that fit the same mold as their back up, and if it's Bryce, you have to make some decisions on how you're going to go about it...and i think you're maybe more in the ball park of what AR15 did against us. and that's a great feather for us...dude thru for 3td's and 500 yards, and they still had to score 3 Td's in the last 5 minutes to win the game. now i'm not saying if Bryce does that, everything's ok, but we've seen a QB go off and it ultimately not matter. so i won't freak out if he does similarly, he's certainly capable. but again, no one is going to be shocked if Bryce Young has a great day against our defense, and i'm thinking he plays anyway.

so we're back to their front 7 against our O line....their pass rush ability is scary. so i'm kinda anxious to see how we're going to go about attempting to neutralize those 3 edge guys. Bama wins this game by those 3 making our day miserable.

there's match ups we can take advantage of, and if Ced is back and really full go, then that's fantastic.

intangibles,...not sure if there's a metric for this. but i do think most of them are on our side. i'm not sure the atmosphere, which will be great, will matter to Bama. they've shut crowds up before, so i'm sure they're going to be confident, regardless. but Tennessee doesn't get phased either. make a mistake, no problem. we've seen time and time again that this team has a short memory, and if you make a mistake, get it back next opportunity, and when we've absolutely needed them to do that.....they have. and that is probably the most "unTennessee" thing this team has done this season. they don't fold. they expect to win. and they play aggressively with that purpose in mind. I love the mentality of this team. dictate to your opponent. this is not the Tennessee that "feels things out" anymore. and i love it.

mistakes....law of averages says Bama doesn't have 3-4 games a season where they make enough mistakes to cause an L on their schedule. so far they've had 2, and escaped. are those outliers or is this bama team mistake prone? Regardless, over the course of this 15 years, Bama doesn't make mistakes against us...so is that something else that changes this year??? we've not exactly been clean all year either. we've won turnover margin so far this year, but we've put the ball on the ground more times than any of us like, and if we do that against this team, i'm not so sure we can come out on top. Penalties....we've been hot and cold. we need to be disciplined in this game, and not give them anything easy. they have to earn anything they get. again, historically, we've not "gotten the call" against these guys, whereas it seems Bama has gotten the benefit of the doubt a lot more than us. what will get my BVS flared up again is if i see egregiously blown/missed calls like we saw in the Texas and aTm game. or pick a TN/Bama game from the past 10 years lol...that roughing the passer or unnecessary roughness on Tua a few years ago comes to mind....stuff like that. it's gonna be hard enough to just beat the players on the field, so if the refs suck...well...that sucks. so be better stripes...pretty please?

at the end of the day, i really like how CJH has had this team prepared all year. i think this team is mentally tough enough to compete here. we ended two streaks this year already, so i don't think it's anyone's head over there about the 15 in a row or anything. i think Bama comes to play and doesn't look like a team in survival mode. for the first time in a long time, this feels like a game that can go back and forth, and it will come down to a few players, making plays.

i think this is higher scoring than most think.

and i think this is this generations equivalent of the 82 game.

Tennessee 43
Alabama 39

VOLS 45
Red team 38

Bamar scores late in the 4th to make the score look closer than it actually is. I don't care who their QB is, we're winning this game.

In this rivalry of streaks, a new streak begins this Saturday for the good guys.

I've been saying this will be the greatest TN / AL game in my lifetime and I believe it will live up to all the hype.

If you have tickets and you're not going, do not sell your tickets to bamars. Loyalty > money

All ORANGE for the win and don't forget to take a stogie.

We don’t do that rat poison nonsense, we’re not Bama. Let everyone pick the Vols.

Yes. Let it seep it the bammers' heads that they might very well lose this game to UT. That's right... UT might beat bammer. Then they come out tight with all the pressure on them, while we play loose and with confidence because we are playing with house money at this point.

One thing not being talked about enough: our OL. Before the game the narrative was “TN hasn’t played a defense as good as LSU! They’ll get exposed!” People are now acting like LSU defense just isn’t good. That’s not true at all. BJ Ojulari is the 2nd best pass rusher in the league behind Anderson. He was the big talk before the game. We never heard his name. He never touched Hendo; wasn’t even a threat. And we didn’t even have the starting LT in. We also rushed for 240 or whatever against their defense. Wide receivers were wide open all over the field.

Our offense is operating at an elite level. We will score Saturday and they have to be able to keep up.

This year it’s not, I hope we can score😬
This team has the mentality of we’re scoring! Try to keep up💪🏻

agreed, and that's why, in my super long post above, i mentioned that the match up this game depends on is our O line v their front 7. agree about Ojulari. the main difference between him and Anderson, outside of Anderson just being ridiculously talented, is that he has 2 other guys that aren't too shabby themselves, and having all 3 of them to deal with, is going to be different than what we've faced up to this point.

but i agree, our O line has done well. and imo, it's THE match up of this game. i feel pretty confident that we'll give up some points to Bama lol. but if we continue to see our O line operate like they have, well, that just makes the rest of our offense go....and i wouldn't be scared of a shootout type game with anybody. which is what i think we're going to get.

I think the comparison to look at here is actually how we did against Pitt. Coming into the year both Bama and Pitts DL was ranked in the top 5 in all of CFB. Currently, as team sacks sit, Pitt is actually tied for 15th in the nation while Bama is tied for 18th in the nation. Bama has 18 sacks on the year, Pitt has 19. Pitt is also similar in that they have multiple rushers. So far this year they haven’t really had that one guy, like Anderson, that sticks out.. but they do have 2 players in the top 100 players in CFB in terms of sacks. Alabama only has Anderson in the top 100.

So all in all, if you look at how we did against Pitt that’s a decent measuring block to see how we could fare vs Bama. I get that Bama has probably played better competition then Pitt so far, but this is probably still the best comparison to who we have faced so far.

Pitt against us: 3 sacks, 6TFL, 1 QB hurry.

And that was in our 2nd game of the year. OL has had more time to gel since and has looked better as the weeks have gone on. I agree though, if the OL holds up, I wouldn’t be scared of a shoot out either.

That tweet about new goal posts being constructed was a fake. However, I would like to see them tore down and thrown in the river but bama being ranked #3 instead of #1 takes some of the fun out of storming the field. I suggested just smoke cigars in the stands like they did last year.... act like it ain't no big deal.

BTW,
Richard G. West is the new....

This
Some people are acting like we’re chop liver
LSU has two nfl DEs and we owned them
CJH will scheme to get the ball out, he’s a damn good coach
They will make plays but our offense and defense will also
Our dline is probably playing its best ball right now and may be the best one bama has faced this season

We were ok last year and played them into the 4th
We’re better this year

Can’t be scared to play just bc they have Alabama written on their jerseys
We’re Tennessee and people need to start fearing us

If we were 2-3 or 3-2 and playing a nobody, troll us all you’d like.
but right now, we are seeing the incredible resurgence of our program with a real chance to break a 15 game losing streak to our longest and most hated rival.
right now all news about this game, especially injury updates, is important to those of us who bleed orange.
silly fake postings (which I’ve made more than my share of over the years) just aren’t appropriate now.
timing is everything. Read the room, as they say.
it’s time for Vol dudes to put on their cups and Vol dudettes to put on their sports bras.
Lets get it in VolNation! Saturday could be very, very, special and a day we will all remember! Go Vols! Beat Bama!
