It's been like this multiple times per year. He's messing up some of the players' potential careers and causing too much dissension in the fan base. Not to mention the black eye the program gets in the media for his BS. Currie should get his opportunity to move the program back up with his guy.

Butch is done. Just a matter of time now. I think he survived this season though. Fired at the end of next season.

Up until now, I have supported CBJ because he brought stability and recruited well. I hoped that the rest would fall into line. However, I've come to realize that his recruiting will not do it. UF looked like the men out there while UT looked the boys. That has been the case for years but, based on Butch's recruiting ratings, it is now unfathomable. Either the staff cannot evaluate talent or coach it up.

A year of football purgatory is exactly what this fanbase needs. If the AD wants to kill any momentum Butch has built then by all means keep him after a middling season as a lame duck coach.

InVol why would Butch get another year if he didn't get an extension when Currie came in? Why the hell would we waste another year on him? There is more than enough evidence that Butch is out of his league here, he's not going to change or improve as a coach.

The team will actually be quite talented next year. It's a dream scenario for a coach coming in.

Everyone is talking about Shoop being gone and I asked the question who is out there to replace him with no answer. What names do yall have. I'm just curious because I really have no idea. Someone help me out

Change needs to come this year I don't care how the team finishes. The talent coming next year, if they don't change their mind, is all the more reason to get a real coach so their talent isn't squandered too.

Don't disagree but I think Butch will win just enough to keep his job this year.

Have you ever wondered why a team fires a coach mid-season?

An AD can search for a coach even with one active, so what is the point in firing the one you have until a replacement is found?

A couple reasons:

1.) You don't have to be as secretive and can avoid embarrassing leaks

2.) It removes the opportunity for the coach to save his job

A lot has to do with money. Most of these decisions are made on a spreadsheet. There's not a lot of financial reasons to fire him. Ticket sales are still great. There's not a lot of reasons to spend $8 mil plus to get rid of him. Now if the season tanks completed, some of the big money contributors could step up and make it more financially feasible. I think he'll win just enough to keep his job. All imo.

Knowing our luck, that's what will happen. He'll win enough to not get fired and we will be screwed another year. Hopefully the rumblings of him maybe looking to get out will come true then. Butch is a joke nationally at this point. Article after article, its embarassing.

There are plenty of names that have been listed ad nauseum. The "but who do we get" argument is weak. Once you don't have faith that your guy can at least win a conference championship for you, find someone else who you think can.
