'24 Recruiting Forum: Official Florida Pre-game/Game Thread

This second half is the most important half in coaches career. A loss at home to a lame duck coach could be program collapsing bad, I don’t think that’s an exaggeration.
2 lame ducks in a row makes you a lame coach.

There is a spectrum of playcalling with run it up the middle on one end and statue of liberty on the other. Somewhere in the middle, like a screen or outside run, would be adequate. Something other than what the DL is clearly expecting.
We got the first down, jave. This board is f'n negative.

I say try the #2 out, what is the harm at this point? We haven’t scored in two quarters. They are literally stacking the box and asking us to throw it.
My personal view on this is coaches know there is a big gap. Also think if it continues into third quarter you may have to at least consider it. At some point everyone has to be judged on performance.

When he’s had time he hasn’t hit open guys downfield. Tell me I’m wrong.
His mind doesn't just reset every play. When you've had 6 straight quarters with bad protection, it doesn't just go away because for one play the protection held.

Having the tools simply isn’t enough.

The OL has played like dog****, but the frustrating part is even if they had I haven’t seen anything from Nico to believe it would make a difference. Even when he had time he was overthrowing, missing reads, and throwing pics. Nico isn’t it, so you just keep him out there and lose?
I honestly think he’s a 19-20 year old kid pressing. I think the backup would signify a significant downgrade on ability. Giving up on Nico in game 5 of freshman year is a lot as well. I still believe in the kid but need to start seeing growth
