‘23 Recruiting Forum: Official Florida Pregame/Game Thread

Milton will definitely get more hate than he should. He didn’t play that bad especially after Huepel finally opened up the offense and threw it down field. He doesn’t have the “IT” factor tho
He's average. Any average qb behind a bad OL is going to look bad. Put him behind a good OL and he'd have confidence and process things better and look really good. We need a QB who can overcome a bad OL, and he's not it. We'll have a 7 or 8 win year and hopefully have a better OL and a great RS freshman QB next year to get us back to ten wins.

Quarterback play is the number 1 reason Tennessee lost. I wish Joe was the guy but he just isn’t.
You should probably abstain from attempting to analyze the game of football in the future. There are at least 5 issues tonight that were much more to blame than the QB. If the rest of the team did their job Milton will be a winning QB. He is not good enough to overcome his team not performing around him.

And all the doomsayers is who I was talking about. Holy **** people. Turns out Florida wasn't as bad as we thought. Especially on their home field with a loud crowd. It's not the end of the world. Heupel isn't suddenly a bad coach. Grow some effing nuts, people. I mean, unless you're a woman, then please, don't. But still, we will survive. We still have a fighting chance against anyone. I've yet to see a college football team that looks unbeatable this year. We have a hell of a lot that needs to improve, but our season is NOT over.
No Heupel is not a bad coach unless he gets stubborn and keeps Milton in. His offense is dynamic if the QB can execute.

Florida is not good at all. It’s not a good sign for our season. That team couldn’t barely score ten points against Utah with a third string QB. Unless we change QBs and some OL, we’re going to struggle.
OL is a much bigger issue, and that will be helped if Cooper comes back but it won't be fixed. OL recruiting isn't great either. Just not good.

These issues were there last year and the offense over came them in most games.
There’s a reason Hendon beat Joe out two years ago.

it’s not so much that we suck, it’s that we could be amazing. Win every game the rest of the way, hell even win the playoffs.. and we still just can’t beat Florida.

It was also because Joe got hurt but yea Hendon kept playing because he was clearly performing at a higher level

It's so frustrating. I don't care about beating Bama or UGA anywhere near like I care about beating Florida. And we just can't ever put together a good game against them. Even last year when we were a ten times better team we needed a miracle catch by Keyton to barely survive at home.

GA and AL looked like **** today too.

But they didn't have their games stolen from them. That's the difference.

Playing a bad game does not establish a "moral principle" that we didn't "deserve" to win, and what the SEC crew did was THE difference between winning and losing.

Florida didn't "deserve" to win after all of those bogus calls. I say this as a challenge to people who like to play the "deserve" game.

More important to fix the OL atm. Then we'll see how big a problem Milton is. Put Nico in behind that OL, we're still going to lose.

OL recruiting is okay now. The problem os that it sucked in Heup’s first couple of classes, so we’re mostly playing with transfers and Pruitt recruits. Next year’s OL could conceivably be worse unless a couple of young guys start to develop.

Need to fix the OL before we worry about switching QBs. Nico will play just as poorly behind this OL. Give Milton a chance behind a functioning OL.
