If the defense isn't very good up front..... The question is where do we improve it? We haven't really signed a lot of prospects inside....... And we didn't have much luck in the portal this go around.

I'm a little worried. Sounds like Florida dominated the first half and coasted to the finish line.

I thought the DL played fine. They got pressure on Mertz, just couldn't quite catch up at times, and I think some holding calls were missed. LBs were quiet. Herring struggled at times calling sets. The secondary was bad.

Most upsetting play for me in the first half was Hadden trying to knock down Etienne with his shoulder rather than wrapping him up, allowing him to run for that first TD. That was ridiculous.

Agree to disagree. He has nowhere near the "it" factor of a Hooker or Young type QB that can be a gamechanger even if his teammates around them don't do their jobs well. But if his teammates do their job we can be successful on offense.

Dynamic QB play takes teams to elite status. There are very few QBs like that. But after that level, there are lots of good but not elite QBs. Milton can be in that group if the whole offense is executing.

The constant QB blaming usually simply sounds like blaming the President for the troubles in your life.

170+yards rushing is typically a d line issue...... Unless the linebackers are just horrid......

Defense has had one bad half all year this year. That’s it. Hey everyone is digging them and trying to say Milton is playing well. It blows my mind. Defense had a bad half but did enough for our team to come back in the second. Offense couldn’t do anything. Florida sat back and let us move on the second and we still couldn’t score when we needed.

Hadden played tuuurible with the exception of one good tackle late in the game.

I don't blame coaches too much beyond not recruiting and coaching up the OL enough. You can't get too exotic when the OL is so bad.

IMO….. our identity is efficient explosive offense…. if it is not clicking then the whole team will look bad… Joe has a pretty deep ball….. good screen but pretty much no midrange passing game…. it is what we are so poor on 3rd downs since it took over…. Fix that position and it will clear up a lot of our warts.

No one is saying Milton is all world. But we also had other issues tonight. OL and defense weren’t good. We had to go on 4th down in the second half which puts pressure on the offense. Milton is doing what he is taught based on defensive alignment. Some very good throws, bad officiating, and got down too much in the first half.

Heupel’s offense doesn’t really have a big mid range passing game. I read that when he was hired. We saw more on our last drive.

I think the defense is still what they were last year.... Not very good..... The offense just isn't good enough to offset against good competition is my fear......I hope I'm wrong.

I worry we haven't brought enough talent at O and D line to do what we need to do.

I just took 8 months off. Tried the game thread in the FF but was over here after a few minutes. Ain't going to stick around but may drift over here for the games. You guys go easy on each other. Toxic going to toxic.
