They need to move Theo to safety and take either McCullough or flowers off...both are bad. Plug Turnage at Nickle or put him outside. Hadden needs more reps. I think Mohan just needs to get bigger. You still need these types of guys though. Gotta nail some instant impact guys though. Have to keep it competitive to attract the talent

Its too late to move Theo, and hes gone in a year anyways.

Henson Hooker, Javonta Payton, Velus Jones, Cade Mays, Caleb, Turnage, Hadden, McGrath, all portal guys all playing quality minutes for us.

There’s only so many HS kids in a class Butch & Pruitt both failed ultimately thinking chasing stars with HS kids that they couldn’t develop.

Don’t care where the players come from as long as they can play ball & staff can develop them. Stoops has been building his model at UK for a damn decade and still has rarely finished with a better recruiting class than we have, regardless of coach.

Until this year and possibly next as well.
And in a year or two when guys who got COVID years are gone, adding all those guys on top of the upperclassmen you already had just creates a void by losing more than you should.

Yeah, I don’t want us to be pulling 10+ in portal every year.

But I feel like Heupel can’t really be judged in recruiting until year 3 and 4. First class he salvaged what Pruitt had and filled gaps. Year 2 recruits still in “show us something” mode. Hopefully top 25 next year’s class will be the first time we really get to see what they can do with a season under their belt & a full cycle to recruit players.

The portal is fine, if you have 1-2 pressing needs to put a team over the top, but this building depth crap that our fans have come up with is just that. Its a terrible model

Pruitt couldn’t coach and that was obvious.

The portal isnt 5. Building from the bottom with ok classes so you have depth is 5. The portal is for year 5+ when you need that QB and DB to fill the few holes that are left. Thinking the portal is 5 gets you to looking in year 5 going hmmm I have more holes than I can fill because I took those extra 7 players, and then couldnt fill their spots when they left.
