What's your point? Everyone in the world saw we were imploding. Butch and Dooley now share the same record into the 3rd season.

I will judge after this year is done. Dooley never won a bowl game and never brought this kind of talent and had us almost on academic probation. Dooley would've lost this one 49-3 if still here. He started with worse than Dooley as well talent wise. He will have a better record than Dooley after this year or should be fired. For you even to speculate he is as bad as that idiot is pathetic.

Just got home from the game. Damn that was tough. Honestly the toughest loss I've been through as a Tennessee fan. Just some thoughts though, if you remotely think this team and Dooley's 3rd team are remotely close, your wrong. This team competes. This team wants to win, you can see it in them.

And what if butch isn't the answer? What if he isn't the coach to lead is to the promised land? The roster is much more talented than when he arrived. The program is in a much better position than when he arrived. Butch Jones has been good for Tennessee football, and no one can deny that.

He may be. Time will tell.

Today was tough and I saw a lot of coaching decisions that have made me skeptical, but we've gotta let the season play out.

I'm definitely lower on Butch now though. Sunday-Friday he's the perfect coach for us. It seems like he struggles on Saturdays though.

The W-L record is the same. Jones and company need to make some serious changes to improve that record. If we end another season near the bottom of the SEC East, he is going to be on the hot seat.

Starting to look like UT's version of Zook.

The man has changed the culture of the team. The past several years when we played ranked powerhouses, we were hoping that we could be good enough to compete. Now, we are going into games knowing that we will be competitive and that we have a legit shot at winning.

Team's culture has changed, yes. Too bad the coaches apparently don't feel the same. They play not to lose as soon as they get a lead on a team and it ALWAYS comes back to bite them. They are so afraid of a player making a youthful mistake that they don't let them actually "play" and start to coach tight...which transfers to the players and makes them play tight and nervous; hence Dobbs throwing the ball into the dirt as soon as the play wasn't wide open instead of playing loose and creating like he did last season.

Well said - I feel the exact same way.

He is going to have a shot in two weeks for redemption. If he loses to Florida, he is going to see the fans turn fast.

Butch will be here for a long time. He is the master of the hype machine. I suspect though he'll never be more than a 8-4, 9-2 coach here. I don't think his system on offense will ever consistently win.

If he doesn't take advantage of a weak SECE this year or next, he'll never be in Atlanta.

Personally, I like Butch but he's proven absolutely nothing to this point outside of recruiting. How long does it take for "We're one year away" to effect recruiting?

Sounds like Butch will be the next Mark Richt.

This loss hurt me more than any other.

This sounds dramatic, I know, but I spent the past few hours contemplating Tennesse football and it's place in my life, and I'm questioning it all. The amount of time and emotion I invest in it isn't healthy, especially when I get seemingly so little back.

I'm tired of booming for recruits and watching the team/coaches still choke away huge wins. Tired of checking this forum and Twitter religiously every day for a new glimpse of hope and getting the same results on the field.

None of it matters when we still lose games like this. It's painful. It hurts me to my core, way more than anything that doesn't directly involve my life should.

I think I'm done for a while.

Wellbye.gif

Exactly where I'm at, man! I enjoy all of you guys on the board, but I'm sick of putting in so much time to keep up with everything, scream my guts out, knowing we should win the game, then losing it again. I've watched 3 gut-wrenching losses in Neyland the last 3 years, and I'm done with it. I don't think I'm going back for a game, until Butch can prove he can win a big game. His offense needs a lot of work.

Blaming this game should we lose on anybody beside the OL is ignorant

You continually trying to convince everyone Jumper is a player is ignorant. Anytime you have a will racking up 21 tackles tells alot. One, he's aa flat out stud and flys to the ball, and two,you don't have a Mike on the field worth a flying ****.

Is Kirkland really not ready to start? Jumper is just a huge liability out there on defense. We might as well not even play a MLB if he's the best we have.
