Please do not pull down the goal posts for Oklahoma.

If the energy is close to what it was towards the end of the UGA game 2013, but we win, I don't see anything less than at least storming the field. I could tell on that day in 2013 that if we won, there was no way security would hold that crowd back. If it looks like we are going to win, my guess is security will encircle both goal posts, instead of trying to prevent storming the field. They can prevent fans from climbing the goal posts, but there's no way they will be able to stop us from coming on the field.

I was there too. 11 am kickoff. It was loud but Georgia was rocking after JRM punt block

I felt like I was back in school in 97-01 during that game, except instead of being in the student section, I was in the nosebleeds. I hadn't felt the stadium shake like that in a very long time.

My wife took our girls out on the ramp on the south end of the stadium because the noise was so loud. It was an incredible thing to see and hear. It was a long quiet walk back to the car though. I can't make this game but I hope it is just as loud and the walk back to the parking lot is a raucous party of celebration!

I hear ya! That was a gut-wrenching loss, and probably more so to me, because I live in Georgia. I was so ready to finally be able to rub it in on them, and zip their mouths for a year.

34-31 Vols

This one is so tough to call though. I think we are as evenly matched as two teams can be. That's really a positive for us, because some say Oklahoma is a dark horse playoff contender.

Nononononononononono Oklahoma is not a "goal post" worthy team. Maybe Alabama if they were at our place this year, but we should have more pride then to pull it down for them.

We could pull Bama's goal post down when we beat them this year!

Gut-wrenching is the only way to describe it. The W was right there but it just slipped through our fingers. 117 played their hearts out though and I was very proud to be a Vol even with the loss.

I'm going to say no to pulling down goalposts simply because they won't let that happen. Security will be all over it.

If people start rushing the field though....you bet I'll be taking a chunk of Neyland home with me!

...but we still need to win one of these big games before any of these shenanigans can take place...

To me it's not necessarily about who it is, although I know that plays at least some part in it. But Oklahoma is a big name. Anyways, to me it's a lot about the setting/circumstances: that we haven't won a game like this in a long time. And a win like this would announce our return in a big way. and it's a night game in Neyland and the crowd is gonna be insane. And if the game goes down to the last play and we pull out the win, I could see a field-storming and I wouldn't blame em

Now if it's a solid, dominating win and not close at the end, then nah, don't storm. But if it's a last second deal, emotions will be crazier than the hormones/emotions in my wife right now (due date tomorrow btw)

There's nothing wrong with rushing the field IMO its all in good fun.

If you're against rushing the field I just picture you being that guy in the 5th row holding your little daughter's hand with a look of despair on your face totally wishing you were young enough to join in on the fun.

...what I'm getting at is that rushing the field is fine unless you're old.:eek:lol:

I think rushing the field is a terrible idea and makes us look busch league, but you can bet if people start hoping the wall I'll be right with 'em.

New tradition:

Tennessee wins, goalposts->river.

As much as fans get gouged in today's game they can afford a few sets.

Let the people have fun.

Ok who's bailing us out?

But also watch out for those security guards. Protect your neck.

Keep your hand at the level of your eyes. Boom. Phantom reference. Pop culture snob points for me

Georgia game 2013 was as loud as I can remember post Fulmer

I agree. I thought it couldn't get any louder-and then the volume went up. I thought it surely couldn't get any louder and then the volume went up again.

My ears were ringing after I left. (also made myself dizzy from screaming, jumping, etc)

In general (not one specific game) that's my favorite time at Neyland. When it's so incredibly loud and you can't hear anything, then somehow it moves one notch and it's so loud that it almost seems quiet.

We went to the Oregon game in '13 and I remember saying to my dad after that blocked punt against UGA that all those Oregon fans were on something if they thought Autzen could get anywhere close to as loud as Neyland was right then.

I would be more than happy for it to be a dominating win and not rush the field versus a nailbiting, close win and rushing the field. Either way, as long as we win, I'm good to go! BTW, you had better tell your wife to hurry up and have that baby in the next 48 hours or hold it until Sunday.
