I would have said Auburn was near a sure loss.

I think they are all close enough to call them tossups. Slight edge to Missouri and Kentucky, but I think they can split those. Maybe.

I can see your defensive skepticism after that second half.
The further we get from the Auburn game the more I see it as a fluke.

I don’t disagree that we have to be more disciplined but we both of those “unsportsmanlike” penalties were questionable too. We got the opposite of the benefit of the doubt all night.

JJ put the TD ball on the defenders chest, leaned over him and barked at him in the end zone. Callaway walked back and shoved a guy after the play was over. Sure, the refs could have looked the other way... but they're going to call stuff like that most of the time, especially against the road team. Gotta be smarter than that.

That's what I cling to. Take out the Florida and Bama games and I think we've seen a lot of improvement from this staff.
Helton definitely schemed up some nice things tonight. And the OL had probably their best game of the season from an assignment/blocking standpoint.

Penalties were killer, though. I thought the Callaway one was iffy but as soon as I saw JJ drop the ball on the defender I knew we were gonna get hit with one there. The false starts sucked and hurt us badly. I don't really mean to give them a pass or anything the environment and all the positional shakeups we've seen over the past few weeks likely factored into that somewhat. Gotta get better, though. If the OL can just get their assignments down, get a body on a body, and not make dumb penalties, then we have the skill guys to make some plays.

Ok boys I got to get off here. Lets try and not be at each other's throats tomorrow. If all of you would just listen to me and agree with me on everything it will be a really awesome day in here. OK? Now have you all taken your Flintstones Vitamins and have you all brushed your teeth and pee peed? if so time for bed.

Vandy is the only team that allowed more rushing yards than we did. Everyone else allowed 120 or less. We allowed 230

I was extremely disappointed in the D. Huge regression.
The DTs are still playing well for the most part. We're struggling badly on the edge, though. Losing Kongbo was bigger than most of us thought. He was playing better against the run this year for the most part.

Nah VN told me he sucked though

JJ 100% penalty. Callaway was not a penalty. That was the refs ensuring momentum stayed with USC

Who's excusing it? It's inexcusable. Pruitt should send it in, and the refs should be suspended. But he won't and they won't.

You know what else is inexcusable? Five offside penalties on our incompetent O-line and two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties against two team leaders-- both after the play was over and both very costly. Undisciplined players, mental mistakes and blown assignments-- that's inexcusable, too. It's not like SCAR put the game out of reach. The Vols just failed to finish.

Can’t like enough. JJ AND MC PISSED ME OFF
