What’s the more likely scenario:

A. JG starts and finishes the game as starter and we win.
B. JG starts, get pulled, and someone else finishes and we win.
C. JG starts, get pulled, and someone else finishes and we lose.
D. JG starts, get pulled, gets reinserted later and we win.

Not A. He will get pulled quickly imo

A B and D !!!

All but one SC 247 writer picked the cocks.
I read those and they didn't even make sense. They were all basically just posting wishful thinking. They noted they had no players on offense. "if this happens, and that happens, oh and this happens too, then SC wins." That isn't a prediction, that sounds like me trying to figure out how we're going to beat Alabama.

They think they're going to have a good defense. They all believe their offense is bad. So I'm not sure where the hope is coming from for them. Basically they're hoping that we haven't improved and that JG will be terrible and that they will magically move the ball. They showed no knowledge of who we have on defense, especially the secondary which will be one of the strengths of the team.

One of them literally said “I’m going to be a homer here and take the Gamecocks...”

And we got a better chance of beating bama than the cocks do of beating us man. They're delusional

Some of them sound like they lost faith in Muschamp. The others, trying to convince themselves.

Do they think their defense is better than ours?

Random night before the game thoughts:

  • I hope Jahmir Johnson gets the start at RT. He’s done all the staff asked and he’s not missed any camp. Whereas WM has missed a ton. Give the nod to the senior. He has my full faith and confidence.
  • As well as we’ve been recruiting OL lately, I’m kinda shocked that Riley Locklear is still in the two deep.
  • We lost two big time contributors in JJ & MC, but man am I excited to see what Brandon Johnson, Ramel Keyton, Cedric Tillman, and Josh Palmer can do. Dare I suggest we’ll be better at receiver this year than last?
  • I know the freshman receivers have garnered a lot of hype - but honestly I’ll be surprised given our depth and given the general difficult transition from HS to NCAA, if either of them log more than say 10-12 receptions all year.
  • I think Velus Jones make a big impact as a gadget type receiver/running back. Jet sweep type plays etc. We only have him for one year but with his return ability and gadget plays, I bet he makes the most of it.
  • I love where our DL is depth wise. We might not have a bellcow lineman offenses have to scheme around, but it’s chalk full of blue collar lunch pail upper class men. They will be a force.
  • uscjr is in for a long game. Muschamp is in over his head against this staff and top to bottom the uscjr roster is pretty mediocre. Don’t get me wrong, they have a few studs I would take in Orange, but only 2 or so, realistically. And one of them is a true freshman.
  • Last years blowout of uscjr is a little misleading because we got 14 points off of a punt return TD and a blocked punt recovered in the end zone. Erase those and it was a fairly close game.
  • That said, my only reservation about this game is how we’ve started slow the past few seasons. I’m hoping that isn’t a trend. If we fire on all cylinders, I think we roll uscjr by 17-20+.
  • Score prediction: 34-13 Tennessee. Sorry muschamp but you aren’t feasting on Dooley or Butch anymore.

Maybe they know something we don’t? But examining their personnel I don’t see it. They’re banking on us losing Callaway and Jennings. Yes... but who the crap do they have on offense? And not to mention, we still have a lot of experience out there at receiver and they even note how strong our run game should be. They don’t have a run game, they even acknowledge that.

They think that their DL, in spite of losing their best players, is gonna be one of the best in the conference and they have hyped up Horn like he’s an all world DB

Do you remember which of their players were preseason SEC? Horn is all I remember.

They are thinking this QB transfer is going to be all world. I believe they are wrong.

I do know that if we lose to SC its going to be a rough year. If we can lose to SC we can lose to KY. You're looking at a potential 1-5 start with A&M, AU, and Fl still to go. We better win.
We could also rebound like we did last year. I just don't know what to expect. What if the missed practices are too much to overcome? What if we need a couple games to settle in?

That's the point. With an all SEC schedule we don't have that luxury. And even if we rebound and we get going, we aren't playing SC, UAB, Vandy, Mizzou, and KY at the end of the year. We're playing A&M, AU, and Fl. Everyone we play with the exception of Mizz, Ark, and Vandy can beat us if we don't play our best. Tomorrow is an extremely important game.
