'20 Recruiting Forum: Official South Carolina Pregame/Game Thread

Shi Smith and their TE Muse are the two guys i worry about on offense. On defense they have a very good DL and solid cornerbacks.

I don't think their RBs, WRs, OL, QB, or LBs are particularly good. I think having Austin Pope in this game would be extremely beneficial. Wish he was healthy.

Smith didn’t do much after that first TD catch. Which happened on busted coverage. He totaled 156 yds on 11 catches and 1 TD. You take that busted coverage play out and he only had 81 yds receiving. After that initial TD he only averaged 8 yds a reception.

We were in what looks like some type of cover 3 zone, and Shamburger broke to cover the flat but Henry T. covered it. He then tried to adjust but it was to late, then Warrior was playing out of position over the top and he made a terrible angle on the hit. It was two mistakes from both Shamburger and Warrior that let that one happen. Mainly Warrior though.

If they don't shift the TE wide at the beginning of the play, Sham doesn't get confused and try to cover the flat, and the play never happens... Or if Warrior makes the right jump on the ball he could of hit Smith so hard his helmet comes off...

This is a make or break year for Muschamp, honestly they should of fired him last year. The only reason he’s still around is cause of that win against Clemson a few years back. People can fret and say we don’t win this game by much, but personally I don’t think SC puts up more than 10-13 points against our D. Offensively we’re gonna rely on the run a lot so I can’t see us racking up 40+ points, but I think we get into the 30’s for sure. I’ll go
35-10 VOLS. Eric gray and ty chandler fixing to be the new Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams of the SEC. and JG reminds me a lot of Jason Campbell who was the QB for those auburn teams. Campbell has a hell of a senior year as well, hopefully that bodes well for JG. Also- JG will throw a bomb on on one of the first 3-5 plays- take it to the bank

I wish Pope was playing but I don't recall him ever making any significant plays. Hopefully the backups can make an impact.

This game gonna be a ugly one.

Multiple cancelled practices for both teams means less reps and more mistakes.

Look for missed tackles, a lot of penalties, and turnovers and miscues on both ends.

We definitely have the better and more experienced team.

Just glad we are able to play a football season!

Vols win 23-13

Wasnt Shamburger who busted that coverage it was McCollough a True Freshman. McCullough is circled and his first move was up for no reason. He should have sat and then released after the receiver broke out of the route.

Shamburger is all the way on the left side of the field.
