I’m honestly worried about Kennedy at Center I think he is our weak link
Kennedy was rated as our second best OL last year by almost every metric. Our weak link last year was right tackle/right guard which makes sense, as the right guard typically determines how well the run-game is going to go and our run game left a little to be desired compared to the rest of the SEC.

I don’t disagree with this fully. But Kennedy missed some big time blocks that got JG and our RBs killed last year. When a guy shoots straight up the middle that’s on Kennedy.

Yea, generally misses inside are on Kennedy, unless he's on a combo block with a guard, then it's on the RB or TE to pick up the blitzer. Even then a lot of these issues should be mitigated with a better RB/TE coach. We had a lot more guys in and out of the lineup on the OL than people realize last year, and I'd love to see us go into the Alabama and Georgia games with a full-strength roster.

I agree. I think overall everything is going to be much better. There were a lot of missed blocking assignments last year until the end of the year and I expect us to not have those issues.

SC fan made a spreadsheet to show the disparity of talent between SC and UT.

USC v Tennessee Talent Comparison (Excel)

Sc has 1 top 200 player starting.

Meanwhile UT has 8 top 100 players starting.

Our offense is older than their D, and our D is older than their O.

Unfortunately, the Vols still have JG as the starting QB and he's been the X factor. I'd be much more confident with anyone else starting at QB for UT. I hoping for a win but expecting a loss.

On the downside of things, I also spoke with the source who made no effort to downplay just how bad the Gamecocks are at wide receiver. The same source believes the offense could be pretty good this season with just adequate receiver play, but he isn't sure it will even be adequate. The hope is the group will improve as the season goes on and the young players gain more experience but there are no guarantees it will unfold that way.

- SC 247 Mod

They have almost ZERO offensive playmakers. If we can put up 21, we should win this one... We win this game 9/10. We just have to play clean football.

This team will go as far as JG will take them.

If the Vols had a playmaker at QB like Josh Dobbs this team would challenge Georgia and Florida for the SECE this season.

But, here we are with JG at QB and hoping to beat SC and the like.
Okay negative Nancy. The sky is falling and it’s all JG’s fault.

Shi Smith and their TE Muse are the two guys i worry about on offense. On defense they have a very good DL and solid cornerbacks.

I don't think their RBs, WRs, OL, QB, or LBs are particularly good. I think having Austin Pope in this game would be extremely beneficial. Wish he was healthy.
