Honestly lower level upper deck is my preferred place to sit. You can see the whole field and things develop.
I also honestly prefer to sit in the endzone where the offense and defenses backs are to you. It's fun watching things develop.
I think you have to look at it from the Kentucky perspective.Kind of a relevant question here…. There’s been rumors that Kensucky will be replaced by uscjr as one of our permanent “rivals” along with Alabama and Vandy when the new schedule comes out.
Do you guys feel like there’s kind of a natural rivalry brewing between Tennessee and uscjr that supports that?
I’ll be honest - I’ve always been largely indifferent on them even when spurrier was there, but I definitely grew to hate them when muschamp took over. And Beamer being the goober kind of keeps that flame burning. Doesn’t help that we compete for a lot of the same recruits lately.
I’d prefer to keep Kensucky just for the history…. But I wouldn’t hate playing uscjr every year.
Thoughts?
i look USCe a lot like i look at UK. we have more history with UK, for sure, so that has to be a consideration. but in terms of where we want to recruit, and be present, i think USCe is a more marquis match up YOY than UK. so if that's what happens, i'm fine with it. we'll probalby win more than we lose, but we'll probably lose more than we did against UK...but you could probably say that about anybody they put in that spot on our schedule .Kind of a relevant question here…. Meh.I have 0 confidence going into this game and it all hinges on the QB.
Give us Hendon and we murder this team. Heck, trade Rattler for Joe and it's a blowout.
There, I said it.
I haven't heard anything about this. Our historical rivals are Vandy, Kentucky, and Alabama (in the order in which they took precedence). There is no question about this. No one would consider Scar a rival, imo, except Clemson and Georgia. I think SCar has at least once claimed Florida as a rival but I doubt FL reciprocates the sentiment. They really don't even belong in our conference. I'd almost rather kick them out and add UNC, but I am too indifferent to them to pursue it.Kind of a relevant question here…. There was considerable discussion earlier this year (both on Volnation and from football writers/analysts) about South Carolina potentially becoming one of UT's permanent opponents every year, replacing Kentucky. I honestly don't know how you could have possibly missed it. The underlying reason for the proposal of South Carolina as one of our permanent rival games is that there is NO CHANCE that we would draw both Vanderbilt and Kentucky as permanent rivals. Those would, in essence, be two guaranteed wins every year assuming our team continues to ascend back to our historical level.I haven't heard anything about this. Anyway, I just did a search to see how many times we've played the Chickens (a mere 41), and discovered that someone on June 23, 2023 (!!!) made a brand-new Wikipedia page called "The South Carolina - Tennessee football rivalry." I would think the instigators of this strange new page with an asinine title (putting Scar's name first! ) are motivated to seek the change you speak of and are trying to rewrite history via Wiki, in the contemporary fashion. It makes sense that Scar would be incredibly flattered to be called our rival. And they wouldn't be able to resist putting their name first.
The other possibility one has to consider is that Sabey for some reason told Sankey to do this. Maybe to allow Bammaw to say they are rivals with Kentucky instead of LSU.
The league ought to be able to find someone to claim the foul Fowl as a rival. Whoever they had assigned to Scar before this suspicious new brainstorm that you reference is OK with me. Georgia is the only team I can think of: a border rival and the nearest school to Columbia.
It might help us to raid SC for talent more efficiently. That is a consideration. I haven't thought that through.

I have always thought Kentucky, is and will be one of our strongest rivals. Would hate to see us not play them every year.Kind of a relevant question here…. Before our program deteriorated, both Vanderbilt and Kentucky were marked on the schedule as automatic wins the minute the schedules came out. No Vol fan really gave either game a second thought. That's not a rivalry.I have always thought Kentucky, is and will be one of our strongest rivals. Would hate to see us not play them every year.
It has to do with history. First Vandy, then Kentucky, then AL were the games of the year. Those 3 games stretch from beginnings to today. The Beer Barrel (RIP) should have clued you in. You should check out some of Peay's Vol history threads. We will still play every other team in the league twice each four years, home and away. Finally, everyone will play everyone. You're just trolling. Before our program deteriorated, both Vanderbilt and Kentucky were marked on the schedule as automatic wins the minute the schedules came out. Those are exactly who we were given before Sabey told Sankey to change the schedule that had already been made. I don't know how you don't know that. As for knowing about this, @EdEcEko77 already told me. And I didn't lose time not acting, but because there is no way for me to get Sankey to stop taking orders from Sabey. LSU is going to be pissed if Sankey takes their Bama game away from them. It's their biggest annual game. Do you watch it? Do you watch Bama-Kentuck? They don't even play every year. There was considerable discussion earlier this year (both on Volnation and from football writers/analysts) about South Carolina potentially becoming one of UT's permanent opponents every year, replacing Kentucky. …and it doesn’t matter. There is no way the conference is going to assign us two permanent gift games every year (Vandy and Kentucky) while giving somebody like Alabama permanent rivals of Auburn and LSU. It is NEVER going to happen. It has to do with history. First Vandy, then Kentucky, then AL were the games of the year. Those 3 games stretch from beginnings to today.
