The last several seasons they have been.

Vol fans just don’t want to believe it. We like to think the reason we have been bad the past few years is because the SEC is just so hard to win in instead of facing the reality of it. We suck.

All we can go by is head to head so..

Call me crazy but I’d rather go against Mullen at UF year in and year out vs Frost at UF. Mullen is still a scary thought at UF too though.

I still think Mullen is playing for more money and continued upgrades in facilities at MSU. As it stands now, he's got his foot on Ole Miss's throat for in-state recruiting and a fanbase that is a lot more appreciative than Florida's.

MSU - 8-4 - Extension!
Florida - Back to Back SEC championships - Y U NO CHAMPIONSHIP!

Y’all should really be talking less about the others and more about this guy...

I know it's sort of transitive property type stuff, but here's my thinking on Jimbo vs. Mullen... In going from a program with great recent success in a conference where he regularly has a greater talent advantage to UT, I think it's reasonable to expect an average net loss of two wins per year from Jimbo's average record at FSU. Whereas with Mullen, I think going from a perennial doormat in one of the toughest divisions in the sport could end up with a net gain of two wins per year over his current average at MSU. In that, I'll take Mullen.

As for Frost... If he proceeds to win the rest of the games on his schedule by two scores, which looks very possible, that's the kind of dominance Urban Meyer showed before going to Florida. I know it is the American East Confernece, but dominance is dominance, and he is dominating the American East with an American East team.

This is why I say Mullen would do very well here. It would be my guess that he and Jimbo would have about the same level of success here. One thing about Jimbo though, he's proven to be a better recruiter. Not sure how big of deal that is though because if you win at Tennessee top players will come. Frost is the wildcard though. As you said, he reminds me a lot of Urban. He's destroying people down there. He's young, has a great pedigree, former national recruiter of the year, so on and so forth. Would feel great if we hired any of those three.

Two freakin wins! And WE’RE the “joke of college football”?

That's why I pay very little attention to the media. They target where they think they can get the most mileage and you can't do much better then UT in that area. We eat this stuff up and keep stirring and stirring.

Jimbo's got a lot more equity than Butch so he'll get the benefit of the doubt for a while.

He very well could be but I could also see him leaving.

You're living in a fantasy land if you think the SEC is above and beyond the B10 or ACC.

I’ve watched Tennessee embarrass 3 teams from that conference past 3 years. Slow as mud. Cake walk for faster teams.

Doesn’t matter though. You have a crush on them and aren’t willing to consider the teams outside the top few don’t have the talent to compete with real teams. Not like that in the SEC. WAY more talent down here. Coaching is down in the SEC right now though.

Firing Mac seems insane to me. Do they really think they can do it with cause? They would have a really weak case. Seems like he could take legal action and get his full buyout.

Would also set a really bad precedent. Does the next guy want to worry about getting axed after winning the East two years in a row and the AD doing its best to screw him out of his buyout in the process?

What if they fire him and then he lawyers up and releases the death threats after? He would get three times his contract and force them to hire cheap.

I just think all of the power 5s are very even right now. All have about 2-3 legit teams that can compete and beat each other and about 5 decent teams. And the rest trash.
