I think the SEC is top heavy too but I'm think the next tier of teams are better than both other leagues. JMO

Really? We've seen a bottom tier B10 team whoop a bottom tier SEC team.

Michigan, 4th in their division, beat UF easily. The UF team sitting at number two in their division.

Look, even if the SEC is better the separation isn't what you guys want to make it out to be. The SEC s'posed to be SEC but it isn't.

If Frost lands at Nebraska the Big 10 starts getting real. Nebraska, Michigan, OSU, Penn St, Wisconsin...

Would be a threat to Wisconsin but that’s about it. Nebraska is dead. No recruiting base whatsoever and don’t even play in their own conference. It’s a lost program. No identity.

I don't think there's a big gap anymore, but 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 etc..., I think sec wins half or more against any other league. Not 10+ like we would have years ago when the west was insanely good, but I still think we'd come out on top.

No.

Like i said. Jameis made that man some money.

Hesiman Trophy candidate at QB and perhaps the best defense in the country under Pruitt. Seems to have struggled some in replacing them, having to make replacements like this is inevitable in college football.

That said, I would be happy if we land Jimbo. There are just a few other coaches that I'd be more excited about.

Florida was/is missing 12 players and is imploding similar to us. I don't place much stock in the battle of the worst. Plus, I think this year is an anomaly.

This. I don't think an argument can be made that the SEC is better than the Big Ten. It's just not.

He’s been in two playoffs. Won a natty. Had double digit wins every year but 2 (this year and had 9 his first year). That is sustained success.

I agree a lot with InVol but not this time. One of only four guys to win a NC who is still an active coach and beats Florida regularly. Does show us how important the QB position is. Also, I said before the year that QB play would determine our season but had no clue it would be this bad. It is where we are at right now.

As bad as the SEC is, you can’t hide in this league. It exposes you.

That’s how Butch Jones teams end up meeting higher ranked big 10 teams in bowls and embarrass them. You can have a good team in this conference and still drop a few games. If you drop 3 games up there then it means you beat no one. If you drop 3 in the weaker division then you can’t line up.

He won three conference titles in a row and hasn't in the last three and won't this year. All this with really ne significant conference foe, maybe two in some years. Also, take into account his players have historically gotten away with murder. I'm not impressed with Jimbo.

With that said, I do not like how he has ran the program so not interested in him here but has had sustained success in my opinion.

As far as timing is concerned, I wonder if they're counting on a bunch of empty seats at homecoming in order to get a concensus among all the big money guys before they officlally end the Butch era.

I'm not saying Jimbo is not a good coach. I just think he's seen his better days. Also, I don't think he'd have the same level of success here as he's had there. He gets "buy" with a lot more down there than he could here.

A horrific Tennessee team has destroyed a top 5 or 6 b10 team 3 years in a row. Ya their top 4 are elite and way better than out top 4, but the next 8 I think aren't as good as the the next 8 in the SEC.

The ACC, SEC are on different levels. The BIG has two that can play with anyone. PAC 12 sucks and outside of Oklahoma, who do you like there?

Well Ohio State , penn state , Wisconsin, and Michigan could all play with anyone in the nation.

Pac12- has the best QBs In the country. Washington, wsu, usc are all talented with good QBs. Washington lost their whole secondary in the first 3 rounds of the nfl draft last year.

Big 12 With TCU (‘may get in playoff), osu, Oklahoma, wvu, and Texas keeps getting better.

The SEC was better two and three years ago. It is not now.

If you drop 3 in this league it means you likely beat no one.

I wouldn’t call either of our teams the last 2 years horrific. Especially last years team against Iowa. Handful of nfl players on that team.

Those Tennessee teams were not horrific.

Also, most in here were arguing those Tennessee teams were top 4 in the SEC at the time.

Two and three years ago, sure.

Times change. Just like ten years ago the SEc was head and shoulders better than everyone.
