A horrific Tennessee team has destroyed a top 5 or 6 b10 team 3 years in a row. Ya their top 4 are elite and way better than out top 4, but the next 8 I think aren't as good as the the next 8 in the SEC.
The SEC was better two and three years ago. It is not now.
If you drop 3 in this league it means you likely beat no one.
I think having OSU, PSU, MSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin are enough to put the Big Ten ahead of the SEC. The SEC has Bama and who else? Georgia and Auburn are quality teams but outside of those three this conference doesn't really have another good team. Maybe LSU. Purdue also made Missouri grab their ankles for 4 quarters. They're the better conference because they have far superior coaches IMO.
Thats because Bama is the only someone in some peoples eyes. The league last year was a bunch of 8-4 which translates to 10-2, 9-3 in b10.
Im not sure what to make of the league this year yet. Its obvious this league has taken a step back but b10 isnt the same level overall even if their top teams appear to be better. Easier to look good and keep things rolling when you are playing a scrimmage every week except two weeks a year.
I'm not saying Jimbo is not a good coach. I just think he's seen his better days. Also, I don't think he'd have the same level of success here as he's had there. He gets "buy" with a lot more down there than he could here.

I posted this a few weeks ago but inthink it bears repeating....
I was told that certain people over there at UT had come to the conclusion that there was no way that they could compete with Bama and thus they weren't going to try. They were just biding their time until Saban moved on. At the time I laughed it off but I have often thought if that might actually be the case.
