Bettrr in the short term too. Butch ain’t coming back. Support the team. Easy decision.

Yep, I’ll be there. My 5 year old’s first game. We live in Alabama and he still wears his Tenn gear out and about. Today, a lady told him roll tide. He quickly responded with boo Alabama, go Big Orange. Train a child up in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it.

We had the worst loss in over 100 years in Neyland. He said nothing. We lost to a garbage SC team. He said nothing. We got embarrassed by Bama. He said nothing. We lost to Ky for the second time in 33 years. He still has said nothing. Isn’t speculation at all. Fans deserve better.

So because he isn't saying anything means he's not working behind the scenes and doesn't care? Well, alrighty then

Random question but if Tennessss hires a Mullen or a Frost how long do you think it will take for us to legitimately be in the championship picture? I'm thinking we'll be ready to eat in year two if we get the right guy.

There’s plenty of coaches that have quick turn arounds. Mac did good year 1 at UF. Hoke year 1 at UM. Kirby year 2. I’m not ready to name Georgia bama east just yet. So I still think the east will be relatively up for grabs in the near future.

Year 2. After getting his system installed and having a full year to actually develop our players for the first time, they’ll be ready to go. We’ll be a contender in year 2 with the talent we have, especially if they can salvage the recruiting class. They would have Smith and Mays on the OL if they can get Mays to stay with TN. That would be one heck of an OL with real coaching.

Year 3. The way our roster is set up, any new coach will be losing a lot of players between year 1 and year 2.

Based on what? The decisive action our AD is taking? The historical standard of winning expectations of our AD? The win at all cost attitude of the Haslams and other boosters? There is no reason to believe it’s going to be over soon except message board “insiders” who don’t know anything. Should’ve been over after Ga but here we are.

and your blathering is based on what? twitter nonsense? you haven't a clue just like the rest of us. you're posts haven't been helpful - only perpetuating fear-based thoughts that nothing will ever be alright. have you changed your plans for Saturday? throw your home coming tickets in the trash?

please shut the **** up. (guess i should just ignore you.)

They are going to need it with this buyout and hiring a new coach.

Let's see emptying neyland would cost the AD dearly. I am guessing there are about 10k in unsold Tickets at 45$ each. That's 450,000$ lost. Now let's say your childish #emptyneyland campaign works and 50k of your temper tamper throwing friends stay home and the concessions are hurt at 10$ a person average. That's is 500k more.

So just for kicks and giggles let's use 1mil lost in revenue for each the last 3home.
So now all of a sudden we have lost 3mil dollars because we didn't trust the process.

Sounds like we might have to hire Bobo after all with that much lost money.

Sorry this is a facts free zone. Only irrational thinking allowed until Gruden or Frost is hired

Muschamp in year 2 at UF, that team was legit

Agreed.

Crap UK, UF and USC teams that should never come down to one big play.

Not disagreeing. They are bad teams. But so are we. Let's call a spade a spade, we're a bad team. And if we execute those 3 plays, and were sitting 6-2, Butch is thought of in a whole new light and we're staring down a 9-3 season.

I recall my roommates enjoying McGees as freshmen. I didn't party a whole lot until after my freshmen year.

Yeah, it was ridiculous how...nondiscriminatory...McGee's was in their serving of cheap beer. Back when going out on the Strip was actually a thing.

We don’t know what he’s doing. Nobody does. Not one person in the media knows what he is doing. But the fact that he keeps sending Butch out there to lose shows he doesn’t care. With an interim we probably beat Ky. Probably SC too. But he kept trotting Butch out there and he’s doing the same this weekend. He is letting Butch run this team into the ground. Recruiting class falling apart, fan base is completely mad and turned against him, and Currie still does nothing. Incompetent if nothing else.

I'm 37, and homecoming to me has more or less been the game you skip because it is typically a horrible opponent with no air of rivalry, and not worth the expense and time to come for a game where the third string should be playing by half time. Very content to watch these from home.

So I ask...is homecoming actually a thing?

It's just a fun weekend to catch up with old friends. The frats and sororities have parties and alumni luncheons, and there are several donor receptions. Some of the colleges have alumni events, as well. I'm sure AD Currie and Dr. Davenport will be making the rounds to drum up pledges for the stadium renovations. That'll be interesting.

Way too early but looking at our 2018 schedule I could see the right guy winning 7, maybe 8 in his first year. There's some good pieces on this current roster still. Shouldn't be much of a rebuild IMO. In year two we should be in title contention.

Im going to the game Saturday to watch my Vols. Screw you.

Same here. I've missed two games all year, UF and UK. I knew we were beat vs Bama, I went anyways. These kids give their all. They play hard for us, y'all do realize that? You only get so many chances to watch these kids put on the Orange and White. Think what you want of the coaches, but these Seniors deserve better. They deserve our all as fans. Win, Lose, or Draw.

Rocky Top you'll ALWAYS be home sweet home. GBFO.

What's the point of empty neyland beyond an embarrassment? Players won't like it regardless of what you claim is your reason.

It accomplishes nothing. Butch is gone. It's not even a question. So it's pointless. Attendance naturally will drop on it own from lack of interest. Don't have to start some gay movement

Again, Hoke wasn't fired till after the season and they hired their #1 guy with almost 10 mil. Its 100% irrational to say Currie doesn't care only because he hasn't fired the coach. It doesn't change 2018 and beyond if it's done now or 4 weeks

HG, what does y'all's list look like? I assume just like ours. Kelly, Frost, Mullen, etc.

You'll hear Stoops and Mullen for obvious reasons. Highly unlikely either coaches at UF again.

Bottom lines it's Frost job to turn down. Norvell name is out there but that's mostly because of another agent knowing Sexton(Norvell) and is an UF law grad. Norvell isn't getting job unless 4-5 others turn it down.

Gundy,Chad Morris and Clay Helton are others names making the rounds.

Exciting times.

Continue supporting mediocrity and putting money in the AD’s pocket if you want. You’re part of the problem.

Here you go with this BS again. Don't tell me I am a part of the problem. I already bought the tickets. Will eat at Rasing Canes before going into the stadium and since a cold night game, will not even need water this time. Because I take my son to one of the few games as a kid I will get to share with him before he leaves me does not make me a part of the problem. Butch is gone and we have not hired anyone yet so will wait and see about next year. How about this, if we do get Gruden then promise me you will not go to a game since everything is screwed up so bad till he is gone. If Butch comes back next year, then I will not go to any games until he is gone. You have nothing to lose because you already have said they are horrible and we are the problem going to games so no way they hire Gruden so you won't have to miss going to Neyland.

Ok

It's been discussed. All 3 of those top ten teams ended up 8-5. I think Nick gave a stat that he hasn't beaten a ranked team that's ended up better than 8-5. They played in a bowl last year at 5-7.

People still want to take a coach and hope “he’ll do better here”

Forget that. Give me Frost, and say “Do exactly THAT here.”

No more pennies in the wishing well
