Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Georgia Pre-Game Thread

So so so close... Worley doesn't go down and we win that game.

I can't make heads or tails of Bajakian. Sometimes his play calling is brilliant and he will put together great drives, and then other times he just leaves you scratching your head. I wish when we were relying on peterman that he had just drawn up a lot of screens and quick outs. We should have scored on his first possession.

Hurd was a monster today.
JRM is extremely impressive.
AJ played solid.
WR's did alright for us missing two guys.
OL is pretty bad, now these last two games have been against some great front-7's, but it doesn't get any easier next week.
Worley is tough as all hell.
DL played pretty well against a very good UGA OL and monster RBs. If Mason stood back in the pocket more often we would have seen more sacks.

Guys we are soooo close. If we stay healthy we will upset at least one team this year. We are an injured Worley and the best RB of the last decade from winning that game.

I haven't. I've been a die hard fan since the Wisconsin bowl game.

I went to 11 of the 13 games our championship year when I was a freshman at UT. I was spoiled. But life and football and everything else is hard. Quit with the negativity. Just fight through it. Good times will come.

It's hilarious all the posters pulling fan cards after losses.

The result of this game hurts like hell and there's no way around that. No moral victories here.

I don't believe in moral victories either, but you're acting like there's nothing positive to be taken from this game. Only a blind man could say he sees no improvement in this team compared to last season.

@cbfowler: UGA survives. I know UT not content with moral W's, but young Vols showed admirable fight again. Not surprised after what I saw at OU.

I don't know if it's on Worley or Bajakian. But in the first half, we did a really poor job of making adjustments at the line. Georgia was showing some obvious pressures and coverages and we were in plays that played right into their hands. Someone has to be able to recognize that and change the play.

Worley deserves a ton of credit for his 2nd half play. I do worry about some of the hits he's taking. Seems like he gets blindsided a lot.

There is no way on earth this is a moral victory. Georgia isn't that much better than us. They played horrible besides Gurley breaking tackles and we blew nearly every chance we had to win. This isn't a case of them being great and us playing well but coming up just short.

So, if they go to the SEC Championship, you don't think they are a good team?

I point out both positives and negatives. I'm not a fan of moral victories.

There's a lot to like about this team, but the lack of an OL is going to make these tough games a helluva lot tougher.

People need to quit acting like we're in the football forum. This is a very young team that is growing each and every game. If you look at about all the play makers on offense they are freshman and sophomores. Both the Georgia and Oklahoma games especially the game today swung on one or two plays. The refs screwed us on three major calls that would have helped too. We are getting there. Keep in mind that no one feared the Vols the last several years. Teams know they can't overlook us anymore. Next year will be better and the next will be special. Just sit back and watch the pieces of this puzzle come together.

Do you give Bajakian credit for the 32 pts TN put up today?

Have you ever thought that play calling is dictated by Def alignment and the players aren't consistent enough yet to win 1 on 1 regularly?

If playcalling was dictated by defensive alignment, why are we running into 8 man boxes and using pass protection assignments that let blitzers come completely free while we are trying to run a long developing pass play?

On the punt that was downed on the one... the 2nd UGA player to touch the ball, and actually down it, clearly taps a foot in the endzone. Is this not a touchback?

We can't change our players. They have to get better. We have to roll with who we have. May as well support them.

I'm struggling to understand how anyone can think this is a moral victory. We played decent, but UGA was handing us this game on a silver platter and we blew it.

Last year was a moral victory. Play a great, tough game and one mistake at the end cost us. This year we had multiple chances to take over and we blew it time and time again.

Yep - it all makes sense now.
Just relax a little. It's coming. We probably take our lumps for one more year (maybe next some too) then the worm turns for us. Keep your eyes on recruiting and HOW our team plays. They believe in this staff. The recruits believe. We as fans just have to figure out how to keep believing.
