Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Ole' Miss Pre-Game Thread

Yeah!! The guy who played one year of football ever definitely knows the key to running an elite level D1 program!!!

You must be talking about yourself. Your dumba$$ opinion has no more validity than mine. At least I've got numbers to back up mine, you've got nothing but blind faith.

Honest question, think about it before you dismiss this question. If you are Worley, how much trust do you have in your coaching staff if they make no improvements in protection formations, putting a kid with a torn ACL in the game, no extra back in pass protection, etc...

Our coaching staff has made no attempt to improve protection and is just being stubborn. I know Worley makes mistakes but I think he is off because of the constant pressure. Again, no attempt at all to adjust and give him extra protection. Do you think it's a coincidence we ran through 3 QB's last year. I would be curious the injury ratio on Cincy QB's during CBJ's time.

I think it's a good possibility he has internal doubts if he wants to go back out there and keep getting killed. He may "milk" that shoulder next week.

Dooleys fault. Be a competitor. Hopefully some VFLs will extend plays and lay Dooley out the sideline one fine Sunday.

Yeah... A group of coaches with a high win percentage together is terrible numbers... Keep comin with those money signs tho.

How bout those touchdowns in the last two SEC games? How about not even sniffing the endzone for two SEC games?

High win percentage? I love Butch but his win % is 60% overall. 33% in bowls. He has a losing record here. I don't know what you expect but I expect a higher winning percentage than 60%. But keep wearing those blinders.

So getting into the redzone tonight with a dropped pass that easily could've gone for 6 isn't sniffing it? Against easily a top 5 defense in the country.

But yeah... As fans of a team that hasn't won 50% of our games in 4 years we should totally thumb our noses at someone with a "60%" win percentage....

We're talking career win percentage. 60% is not acceptable for a career. He's not getting to 60% this year. He'll be lucky to get to 50%. I think 40% is more likely. The offense is quite frankly offensive. It's not improving but getting worse. You can make all the excuses you want and you can sugarcoat all you want but facts are facts.

Nobody is calling for Butch's job but he is not above reproach. Butch is not an expert in sny phase of the game. He's not a built in defensive coordinator like a Muschamp or Saban and he's not a offensive guru like Malzahn or Richt. He will succeed or fail based on his coordinators.

Oh and I assume your talking about the over throw to Pig. The fact you can only come up with one questionable "sniff" only proves my point.

Well we were only crossed the 50 four seperate times tonight.

So yeah I'd say we barely sniffed the red zone.

I don't know y ppl are upset at this game. We knew this would be the best team we would play all season and they didn't disappoint.

I forgot the sky is always falling after losses, regardless of the team we played...

I'll see you Wednesday or Thursday Volnation...

Sorry for trying to provide something other than doom and gloom opinions to the board.

I'm not upset at the game. I predicted the score in the FF of a score of 31-10 so I was right there. I think it sort of sets people's expectations for the rest of the season. I'm not sure which teams we can score on. I really think a bowl game is unlikely at this point which is a disappointment. I'm sure not making a bowl would be disappointing to Butch too as that was his publicly stated goal.

It's not the fact that we lost, it's how we keep losing. Can't even get past the 50, can't run the ball, cant throw the ball, can't block (putting it mildly), can't make basic throws, poor playcalling etc.

At some point you eventually want to see progress..and I'm not seeing it ANYWHERE on the offensive side. I feel horrible for our defense playing their hearts out week in & week out giving us a chance to win every game yet NOBODY on offense mans up & makes a play.

Are we really crying about that last score where out D gave no resistance? Who cares, we have bigger problems... We just got smoked by a team that was worse than us 3 yrs ago, in a tougher rebuild.. They are just 2 classes in, to our 1. That's what a good coach looks like, and he doesn't have an all star staff at all.

It's honestly hard to tell if the WR's, TE's, and RB's are improving with this line and QB play. It's bad. #FreeFerg

I just didn't really see the game that way. I saw some really promising drives that were pulled to a screeching halt by unacceptable interceptions. That was the one thing we could not get away with in a game like this. You say we didn't move the ball. But we really moved the ball better than Ole Miss did through most of the first half. It wasn't until we had to start playing from behind that Ole Miss really pinned their ears back and started making things more difficult. Our offense looked smooth and fluid at times. Did I hate the double reverse? Yep. But you have to try some things like that when you're the underdog. The reverse was there. The double was just greedy and overthinking it.

We played toe to toe with a really good team until Worley killed us. KILLED US. Throw the ball in the stands once in a while. Through the uprights. I don't care. We aren't a great team. We definitely aren't good enough to withstand 4 turnovers on the road against a team that good. Ole Miss just waited patiently until they got momentum and then they striked. I would argue that if they had 4 turnovers and we had none, we probably win that game by a similar score.

The team that makes the fewest mistakes wins. Unfortunately Worley had probably his worst game of the year. It's a shame, because he made some really good throws in there too.

Do I have a solution? Nope. I like how we're recruiting and how we're competing. I'm proud of our defense. This defense is only getting better from here on out. We just need consistency in the other side if the ball. The play makers are there. We just can't afford turnovers against teams that good on the road. Bottom line. That's it.

I didn't know you played football, dude. Where and offense or defense? Regardless:))), that's cool because my dad played football in HS not college. Went in the military directly after he graduated.

Nope not crying about the running play that our guys parted like the Red Sea.

Pissed that they threw it into the endzone with one minute on the clock up 24... I've moved on though.

You think our rebuild isn't the toughest in the country? ???

Dooley and Kiffin damn near buried this program. No OL recruits in a class.

I'm sorry about that Smokey. I was disappointed and that dude seemed to think I didn't have a right to my opinion. Let my emotions get the better of me.

I'm really concerned that we miss a bowl this year again. I don't see the talent/experience on the line to score on any SEC defense. I also don't see this O staff putting them in the best position to overcome their deficiencies. :(

Irregardless, don't you go piling on me too!

Good post. It's ashame though that our defense plays their a$$ off and gives the O chance after chance to do something but to no avail. That being said, the D is incredible when the O gives them a break.

Hey, I don't care about grammar skills at the present time, that's the least of our worries. I'm just wondering about your football skills. Curious.:)

Guess I misunderstood. Could've sworn I read that you played football. Playing any sport is good though. What position did you play?

No the guy insinuated I played one year of football. Not sure where he got that.

Football I played safety and a little running back, I played 3,4,5 in basketball.
