I like Gotham a lot and Scream Queens was hilarious!! If you ever knew some sorority girls back in the day it makes it even better. I quit watching Bones when it started being more about relationships than the crimes and forensics. To me Empire is so hit or miss, my wife loves it but I'm about over it

Surprised by a couple of these!

CBS has given early renewals to 11 series for next season

Blue Bloods
NCIS: Los Angeles
NCIS: New Orleans
Hawaii Five-0
Madam Secretary
Elementary
Scorpion
Mom
2 Broke Girls
Survivor
The Amazing Race

They join flagships NCIS and The Big Bang Theory, which already have deals for next season.

Not getting a early renewal in this round are Supergirl, Life In Pieces, Limitless and Code Black, which bowed in the fall. Of the returning players, there are two major omissions in veteran crime procedural Criminal Minds and sophomore CSI: Cyber

Based on the ratings you have to think that both Supergirl & Life in Pieces will eventually get renewed as both are in the top 6 of most watched shows on the network!

Alone on HISTORY returns for Season 2 April 21st.

If you're not watching this, you need to. Hands down the best survival show on TV today.

If CBS doesn't want Supergirl then they should let CW have it.

If I'm not mistaken the CW actually passed on it in the beginning and CBS picked it up. Like I said I would be shocked if it isn't renewed as its the 6th highest rated show on the network!

Yes!!

NBC has given an early renewal to Grimm for a Sixth Season!

Grimm joins previously renewed NBC dramas The Blindspot, Shades of Blue, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, Law & Order: SVU as well as comedy Superstore

Really been digging Lucifer!!

Fox has given second season pickups to freshman dramas Lucifer and Rosewood. The two join horror comedy anthology Scream Queens as the three first-year Fox series to secure renewals so far.

Still in contention and very much on the bubble are freshman comedies Grandfathered, starring John Stamos, and The Grinder, Rob Lowe, with likely one of them making it to Season 2. Not expected to continue are the other freshmen Fox series, dramas Second Chance and Minority Report and comedies Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life and Bordertown.

Of Fox’s returning series, Empire, Gotham, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Last Man On Earth and Bones have been renewed, with Fox’s animated lineup expected to come back. Of the rest, comedy New Girl had been in talks for a renewal, possibly for two seasons, and drama Sleepy Hollow is very much in contention. Both are owned by Fox.

I really enjoy this show!

Fox has given two early Series pick up orders....

Fox has given a 12 episode series order to 24: Legacy.

It reboots the 24 franchise with brand new characters & cast, from creators Manny Coto & Evan Katz.

The 24: Legacy pilot, starring Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits, had been a frontrunner from the start. It extends one of Fox’s most popular and lucrative drama brands with global recognition, it is done by key creative auspices from the original series, and it is based on a script that had the network brass raving about when they got it last December. The filmed pilot had been garnering strong early buzz over the past few weeks.

Written by 24 veterans Coto and Katz and directed by Stephen Hopkins (who helmed the original 24 pilot), 24: Legacy centers on military hero Eric Carter (Hawkins) whose trouble follows him back to the U.S. – compelling him to ask CTU for help. The show chronicles an adrenaline-fueled race against the clock to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil – in the real-time format that the original series became famous for. Like limited series 24: Live Another Day, 24: Legacy will run for 12 episodes a season instead of the 24 the original series produced each year, so there will be some time jumps in the 24-hour window covered by each installment.

This is the third 24 series on Fox. The original, which ran for 8 seasons, earned a best drama series Emmy Award. Limited series 24: Live Another Day aired in 2014. 24: Legacy is the first 24 series without original star Sutherland. His involvement in the new series will be strictly behind the scenes; he won’t be reprising his 24 character of Jack Bauer. Sutherland currently stars in the new ABC drama Designated Survivor.

Lee Daniels’ Star given series order!

Also picked up to series is Lee Daniels’ music-themed off-cycle drama pilot Star, giving the Empire co-creator two series on the Fox schedule next season.

Star, has been picked up for 13 episodes with Lenny Kravitz set as a guest star, hail from 20th Century Fox TV. They are the first broadcast pilots to get series orders for next season.

Written by Daniels and Tom Donaghy, Star had been a priority for Fox, which gave it a pilot green light in August as a potential companion to the similarly music-themed Empire. Set in Atlanta, Star revolves around three talented young singers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. The series will feature original music, along with musical fantasy sequences, as the girls dream of their future.

The pilot, directed by Daniels, underwent some re-shoots but also has been an early favorite for a series pickup. Its cast includes Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, and Nicholas Gonzalez. Lenny Kravitz, who appeared in Daniels’ The Butler, will be featured as a guest star.

Daniels and Donaghy executive produce alongside Pamela Oas Williams and Effie Brown.

Fox ordered new shows to series!

Dramas The Exorcist, Lethal Weapon, A.P.B. and Pitch; and two comedies Making History and The Mick have all been given series orders at Fox.

The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon are both based on well known properties, William Blatty’s book and the blockbuster action franchise, respectively. A.P.B. exceeded expectations, coming in strong under the direction of helmer Len Wiseman and new showrunner Matt Nix, who took over the project mid-shoot and rewrote the pilot script on the fly. Dan Fogelman’s female baseball pitcher drama Pitch had been well received while the Phil Lord-Chris Miller-produced Making History was the first pilot ordered by Fox after the network brass loved the script. Chernin brothers’ fish-out-of-water The Mick also had been solid throughout, emerging as the second lock on the comedy side alongside Making History.

The Exorcist, written by Jeremy Slater and directed by Rupert Wyatt; Lethal Weapon, written by Matt Miller and directed by McG; A.P.B. and Pitch join previously picked up new Fox dramas 24: Legacy and Star.

That makes it a total of six new drama series, on par with last season, and two new comedies, half the number picked up last May.

This marks the third consecutive Fox pilot directed by Wiseman to go to series, joining Sleepy Hollow and Lucifer.

Lethal Weapon is from Warner Bros. TV, all other shows, including the two previously ordered ones, are from 20th TV. The Exorcist, which was first put together by Morgan Creek two and a half years ago, was picked up by Fox as a spec in January and was laid off at 20th TV.

Yeah, not only are the movie makers running out of ideas with all the remakes, but TV is too?

CBS renews its first Freshman series.

Life In Pieces Renewed For Season 2 By CBS

CBS kicked off the renewal decisions on its freshman series with a pickup of comedy Life in Pieces. The well-received family show is believed to be one of just a couple of single-camera CBS comedies to get to a second season since the end of M*A*S*H* in 1983 and the first in more than 2 decades, since Brooklyn Bridge ran for two seasons from 1991-1993.

Life in Pieces, which has received a full-season order, had been considered a safe bet to return. The series, from 20th TV, got CBS’ premier half-hour slot, behind flagship The Big Bang Theory, and was kept there for its entire freshman run. With BBT as a lead-in, Life in Pieces ranked as this season’s No. 1 new comedy in viewers (10.53 million) and adults 18-49 (2.7 rating).

The only reason for concern in the Life in Pieces renewal was the frayed relationship between CBS and 20th TV, who squabbled over the back order for the show last fall and then again earlier this year over the pilot order to a drama from Matt Nix, which fell through after the two sides could not come to a business agreement. But Life in Pieces is well liked by CBS brass, who have supported it and had been high on its return.

CBS might continue with its renewal decisions today. I hear the network has until end of day today to decide on the future of the superhero drama Supergirl, from Warner Bros. TV, which also has been a subject of discussion for a possible move to sibling CW. Medical drama Code Black, from ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios, has solidified its positions and looks good to return but is expected to undergo tweaks. Limitless, which is fully owned by CBS, is considered 50-50 at best and does not look very promising at the moment. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders has done pretty well.
