Republican National Convention

Unbelievably, I think she actually managed to do as well as Rudy.

Both bases are fired up. Stilll, at this point, McCain really needed to fire up that evangelical base -- mostly for their money. When Palin is removed from the ticket, I wonder if they'll be sending out any refunds?

I didn't say he was full of good ideas....I said that he isn't an idiot. Your post was about knowledge, not the quality of ones platform. For example, I would say that he knows a good deal more about law than she does. This isn't an endorsement...I'm just saying that your post was gross exaggeration.

Where did I call him an idiot?

I would agree that the press absent Fox, Washington Post, and National Review type outfits tend to be a bit Dem-leaning in their coverage of such matters.

That doesn't mean I will look the other way at the hijinks of the likes of Hannity, Wallace, et. al.

So "a bit leaning" is not the same as "hijinks".

Funny, I don't remember any comments you've made about any left leaning commentary - perhaps I missed it.

Seriously, it's okay to admit you lean one way or the other. The "neutral observer" schtick is getting old though.

She gave a great speech..and she reminded me why I like John McCain. Thankfully she stayed away from her own opinions on matters like climate change and evolution. I will give her a chance to explain her position on those more clearly before I "throw her under the bus"....but I think that she and I disagree way too much for me to easily get behind her as a candidate for POTUS. I think that I can live with it for VP....but I'm still making that decision. I would love to see her discuss it in detail.

Is this the same litmus test you hold for Obama?

I said before that Obama should have been much more critical of Rev. Wright and his angry black man tirades. I wish he'd blast Pelosi and Reid. I wish he'd roll his eyes like the rest of us at the Hollywood types who think celebrity = some sort of authority to tell us how to think. I wish he'd say that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are race-baiters. I wish he'd say that Bill Clinton needs to get over himself.

I'd be much more likely to vote for him if he'd do that. So the answer is yes.

Would you not like to see McCain blast Rove and Cheney? Express disappointment at the bulk of the Bush administration? Disavow Trent Lott?

She's not going to raise taxes, Obama and Co are. Does that help?

Quickly to MSNBC for the meltdown . . . Olberman is quoting Lincoln "People who like that sort of thing, will like it".

I agree on the social conservative issues - too extreme for me. She wouldn't be my P pick but I'm good with her being VP. Given McCain doesn't share those views, I doubt she'll be working a heavy social conservative agenda as VP.

See # 289. I respect intellectual honesty and wish both camps employed it more. But they don't. Ergo my disgust with Door Number One and Door Number Two.

Dude...that republican strategist on CNN just hit a really bad note..saying that the most powerful speech of the night was delivered by a WOMAN with laughter after it...I think all the others were just looking at him like "oh my god"

You said that she knew more than Obama about everything...this was a gross exaggeration...deal with it.

You deal with it Mister "Undecided". It was hyperbole, you deal with it. She has better ideas than him on policy, that is not hyperbole.
