I think that was good speech. I agree on McCain being strong in the upcoming debates. I think unless he really screws up somehow, he and Palin will pull out a win in November. Even strong Obama supporters that I know are starting to get tired of his "hope and change" bullshi$. Unless he can come up with some real points, I think he continues to lose ground.

This was typical McCain - a serviceable speech with just enough awkward smiles and strange gestures to make you feel uncomfortable, but overall I think he met expectations.

It really is not a matter of low expectations. McCain is not a master orator and everybody knows that. Every speech he gives sounds like something you'd hear on the Senate floor including 100 references to "my friends".
