Overall, he's the least dynamic of the 4 contenders (including VPs).
As to the substance, I thought it deliver on these messages:
1. My career has been about doing what's right rather than what's politically expedient.
2. Government has a role but its not the answer.
3. I'm going to be relentless in holding government responsible.
Should be effective with the base and any undecided's that have a bit of libertarian in them.
This is why I might vote for him. Disagree with particular items or not, he certainly has my respect more than any politician in a long time.
Another interesting figure...
Of the 4 candidates - McCain, Palin, Obama, Biden - Sarah Palin has the highest national approval rating...58%.
How was it?
usage like this makes me believe that you're not an attorney or that UF's law school doesn't care about LSATs.I was impressed. They really got into the nitty gritty of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Had a conversation at a level of detail I haven't heard any of the politicians speak so far.
Go to about 2:40 into this. Where they start talking about a military option with Iran. Then they start talking about Iraq, etc. I realize some may disagree with his point of view regarding the military. I mgiht end up disagreeing and voting for McCain. But I think conversations like this one defuse the notion that he can only speak off of a teleprompter.

There are definitely times when he moves awkwardly due to his war injuries, but he is clearly not completely at ease speaking from a podium using a teleprompter.
