you're criticizing bush for signing bi-partisan legislation into law? a bill that was touted by Sen. Kennedy? the point of which was to improve our country's education?

FTR, I don't think the federal government should be involved in education (state issue), but this is a pretty weak point of criticism.

Ted Kennedy supported it so it must be good?

What about the fact we went to war in Iraq for a lie. What did Iraq have to do with 9/11? Bush said they were in on it.

The patriot act was written before 9/11 looking for a good reason to bring forward and then 9/11 happens and we essentially lost our 4th amendment rights.
In my book, bush as well as Chaney should be in prison for war crimes. How many of our troops went to war and died in Iraq for the lies of bush.

my thoughts exactly....

Purty word sentences are easy to agree with when your own are difficult to conjure.

Aside from silly bullet points like "good, upstanding citizen" and "someone who doesn't surrender," what specific bills and policy moves did W make that you think improved this country?

And when I say Newt's baggage, I mean his rep as one of the worst GOP SoH's ever (and his eventual resignation), his handouts from Freddie Mac, and his role in the government shutdown of 95/96. I pay no mind to his marital issues and personal life. I only care about a politician's ability to help run this country in a more profitable, efficient way. I could care less where he sticks his bird on his free time.

I assume you're referencing the lie that every intelligence agency and high ranking government official believed to be true at the time?

Belief shmelief. How much hard evidence did we have? Why didn't the majority of other nations want to go in with us?

Not my point. Also, I didnt think NCLB was good at the time, but I find it hard to believ that signing it makes him the worst president.

For the record, I don't think W is the worst president ever. Top 10, certainly, but not worst.

That said, NCLB is yet another example of Federal government overreach and a violation of state sovereignty. Bush could have vetoed it, but instead signed it into law. Calling him on it is not a weak argument.

I don't disagree with your points, except for the last sentence. If the criticism of NCLB is because of government overreach, then I completely agree. That being said, it grinds my gears when Dems criticize this piece of legislation simply because it didn't work - forgetting that it was bipartisan and shepherded by the "lion of the Senate"

don't question my shmeliefs...

I don't know why the majority of nations didn't join us, because these nations were willing to sanction Iraq for noncompliance with the nuclear inspectors.

not saying it did...just responding to the one that said newt has more baggage than obama....and bill ayers is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his baggage...if it didn't hurt obama newts won't hurt him...america is tired of an incompetent President in Obama and will vote him out one way or another... if they know what's good for them and going to help America

Hold your breath for that one...

and why was Afghanistan so wrong?

He thought we could rid the world of terrorism. Instead, he added trillions to the deficit and many American soldiers were killed trying to find one man, who wasn't even in Afghanistan (when he was finally found). Seems pretty senseless to me. However, Iraq was definitely a bigger mistake.

Ron Paul disagrees with you regarding Afghanistan, and as we all know, RP is never wrong.

Just about every Dem in congress said the same thing, you willing to have them all locked up also?

Say so long to the excuse that Dems use dead people to vote...

South Carolina's Attorney General detects voter fraud during pri - WTOC, Savannah, Georgia, news, weather and sports |

You wouldn't want to look like a hypocrite.

Decipher please - are you saying invalid votes are not cast or that they are cast by Republicans too.

If the latter, it doesn't support the first sentence - I'd say it more likely confirms that voter fraud is likely across the board and voter ID laws make sense.

Meant to say it's not exclusive to Democrats as some here have implied on many occassions. I don't have a problem with voter ID laws.
