RFK out of the race. Tells America to support Trump!

Harris literally has no appeal. I like Trump's stance on immigration, but that's about it. I will sit another one out. I voted for Haley in the primary and would have voted for her in the general had she gotten the nod. I sort of wish the Dems would have opened things up when Biden backed out. That might have gotten a guy like Beshear a chance, who would be better than either of our current choices. I would actually prefer Trump to win, just to keep Harris from serving two terms.

Everyone knows Harris couldn't win an open primary
I'll never understand this kind of thinking.

As I don't yours. That's greatness of the principles for which this country was founded. We were founded on a premise that we're all not supposed to think alike. We're supposed to be a melting pot. We make our choices in elections to govern us. Both sides have let us down the last 20 years. Never forget, there are literally more than 2 sides to every issue. Our elected leaders have done a poor job articulating our choices

First, as to immigration, he's lost any trust on that issue given his blocking of the bipartisan bill earlier this year. He has proven that he, like every other politician, views the issue solely in terms of what it can do for him.

Second, he is far too friendly to Putin. He will basically choke off aid to Ukraine and in turn embolden Putin.

Third, he knows nothing of big picture judiciary stability and rubber stamps incredibly unqualified nominations just because guys like Steve Miller back them.

Fourth, he doesn't defend science enough. He would, but when it promotes a result the business or social conservatives don't like, he doesn't stand up to them.

In the end, it's really about the chaos he brings with him to the job. He delegates far too much to people who are not qualified, be it his kids, the power hungry evil people like Miller, press secretaries that tout alternative facts, and basically anyone who knocks on the door and tells him how great he is.

He's not a leader or an advocate for anything other than self glorification.
Thank you for this. I can actually respect this. I don’t agree with all of it but at least it’s something other than feelings based.

I think the immigration issue is a political football for sure. But I also trust Trump to do more about it than anyone else will. As for Putin, I think Trump will get him to pull back. I trust him more than Harris to make both of those situations better at the end of the next 4 years.

As for the judiciary appointments, that’s true with either side of the aisle. I don’t think either side can really say much on that… glass houses and all. I’m not a Miller fan either. I think he’d be better served to move on from him.

I’m not sure what you mean on the science part. If you’re talking about vaccines, I think the last 4 years would suggest that “science” should be taken with a grain of salt and met with heavy skepticism. Trump didn’t handle COVID very well although I’m not sure who would’ve done better. It’s easy to play Monday morning QB… hopefully some lessons were learned but I doubt it.

Science is always difficult when dealing with an unknown. Conclusions change quickly when dealing with an unknown. There was a time table edict given for vaccines. That's the the last thing you want to do when dealing with an unknown. Do you know where the time table came from? He literally bragged about it for a couple of years in front of God and the whole world

Trump wasn’t in office, I’m not sure he was even the nominee at that time.

The reason it didn’t pass is because it wasn’t just about the border, it had so much pork fat spending in it….. it was ridiculous.

He was just vocal about it, it was a bad bill!

How hard is it to pass a bill that is just about the border? We can’t pass a single bill without some of these shitheads putting pork fat spending in it….just deal with the issue! (Both sides are guilty of this)

It was definitely too quick and not tested enough. Biden perpetuated the benefits of it by saying crap like you won’t get COVID if you’ve been vaccinated. If they had just come out and said, “Hey, we’ve tried our best to get a vaccine into the marketplace and we think this will help reduce the spread and the serious symptoms, but we’re learning in real time. As such, we’re leaving it up to each individual to make a decision as to what’s best for you and your health,” then I could’ve respected that. But the mandates and outright lies about the benefits of the shots were too much. Trump touted the speedy timeline but I don’t recall him lying about the benefits of the shots, and he definitely wasn’t on the mandate train. Right?

Bunch of crap.

He hadn't lifted a finger about anything for years and that he calls them up and says kill it because it had some bad components?

Please. No one believes that. Absolutely no one. Just admit he sucks on this just like the rest of them and his reliance on the issue is just fake bull shite.

So was the border more secure after Biden undid all of Trump's executive orders?

The bill was bull. It still allowed thousands of illegals into the country daily. And, like the previous poster said had billions of dollars for unrelated bull crap in it. It was a trash bill.

Trump spending 4 years not enforcing existing immigration laws to please his ag and construction base says a lot more about his true stance than being against a pork-laden election year bill...

I'm very frustrated by the cover being provided for Trump's purely political move about an issue that is now the mainstay of his campaign. The hypocrisy is simply mind boggling.

It was a problem then. It's a problem now.

Neither party really wants It solved. Ds like the votes. Rs don't wanna piss off ag/construction industry
And it’s a no brainer easy peazy fixer……

Secure it, cut the red tape of 2-4 years or longer to get in, if they’re criminal reject them.

Well that is Biden gift to Trump, he made such a show piece about undoing what Trump did and said “come on in world” and they came.

When you let over 10 Million in and then claim it’s secure….. that is real hypocrisy.

The bill that sent $20 billion to the border and $60 billion to Ukraine?

It's always been a problem, that wasn't my question, my question was, was it a big problem then as compared to the last 3.5 years?

It's like the deficit. It was worse under Trump than anyone else in history. Biden then made it even worse than that....

I didn't ask about the budget. The fact is that the border was a minute issue under Trump. We need Hispanics because Americans won't do that work. There needs to be reform. We've been placing bandaids on it for a while. But there is zero comparison between Bidens/the dems handling of the border and Trump's. There's a reason there were thousands in a convoy headed this way the day Biden was announced as the winner. They knew, most people that had one ounce of common sense knew.

Trump was lousy on immigration (just like he was with the budget). He allowed his ag/construction constituency dictate limited enforcement of existing rules for his term.

Yes, Biden is worse with immigration (just like how he was worse with the budget). Biden sucking more doesn't mean Trump didn't suck...
