Rich Rodriguez Turns Down Bama (Merged)

Aside from the increase in pay, I wonder if this is such as good move for RR?

I think it is easier for him to win 10 games a year and have a shot at a conference title at WVU than UA. Plus he is a homegrown boy and will get a little more leeway during a bad season at WVU. We will see.

Hey Bammers, don't look now, but it looks like CRR is going to stay at WVU.. The Mountaineer fans are pretty happy on their boards right now..

i hope you read vol in zona's response... glad he has the energy for this argument

I don't think Zona is addressing what Bait is talking about. Think about it . . . If the reports are true, Bama is about to turn their 3rd or 4th choice into the highest paid coach in the SEC.

You're right. I was addressing Bait's singular post earlier, and he clarified it. I agree with your viewpoint here. Giving your 3rd choice $4mil is dangerous.

sorry i'm confused now. WVU boards are reporting the press conference IS AT WVU. you don't have a press conference AT WVU to say you're going to bama. that would be done AT BAMA. WVU is supposedly offereing $4M. and either way, one loss to a at good S Florida team doesn't make him a bad coach

The conflicting reports are insane. It makes ESPN look absolutely terrible.

Also, Alabama will probably end up with Paul Johnson, who is okay. Definitely a step down from Rodriguez, IMO.

If they don't get CPJ, well, .... Steve Kragthorpe is a good option.

ESPN looked terrible before... just more fuel to the fire. remember the 24 hour TO marathon? ESPN milked that for 10 hours after it was turned to nothing

AP confirms Bama is acknowledging that RR is staying at WVU. i honestly do feel bad for Bama

I find it terribly amusing. Moore should be fired for this fiasco, he keeps making them look worse and worse.
