If Alabama wants to land a big-time coach now, they're going to have to cough up a Godfather-type deal of monumental proportions. They will have to redefine the incentive landscape of college coaches. Their real problem, though, is that if they don't land a big name coach at this point, then whoever they do select will end up getting chewed up and spit out within three years. They need someone like a Steve Spurrier or a Nick Saban in order to stabilize their program.
