Rich Rodriguez Turns Down Bama (Merged)

Who got the better

Impossible to say, just like 99.9% of your other questions. Randy Shannon is an incredible DC (better than Chavis), so I think he'll be very good. CRR is a great coach as well, and I think if he comes to the SEC, he'll be juuuuuuuust fine.

84-58-2 is not a great record..

Only when you coach at Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, etc is it a bad record.

When a coach takes over a doormat like WVU and has that record, it's great. Also, when you look at a coach outside of the big time conferences (The Big East is between a big time and mid major), you really need to look at conference record to see how good or bad the coach is.

Its an opinion question, so if your opinion is impossible to give you are right.

He lost to South Florida, that's not great either..

He's a good coach no doubt, but I'll hold off on the greatness for a while.

I've been reading that WVU is making a big effort at the end to keep CRR. Considering he hasn't signed anything, it's still very much in the air.

Actually with incentives it will be around 3mil a year and Bama will cover the 2mil owed to WVU.

Also asst. coaches he wants to bring will be payed at least 50% more than what there making now. Plus he gets to come to the SEC baby! :)

How long before Bama announces an increase in ticket prices? One week?

I'm I the only one still laughing at this move....I mean JP Wilson running the spread option offense HAHAHAHAHA.....every QB Rod had could run....Shaun King at Tulane, Woody Danztler(sp) at Clemson, and Pat White at WVU he might wanna rethink what he is about to do before he signs that contract

Well, Rich Rodriguez is going to find out pretty quickly that there's a huge difference between the Little East and the SEC. All he has to look forward to now is perennial defeats at the hands of Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU.

JPW ran it well in High school

No they ran the spread offense not the spread option offense.....theres a difference ask chris leak and thats why Urban Mayer has Tim Tebow to run it next year....Bama has nothing but throwing QB's :eek:lol:

Ok guys this isn't done yet. Rod came home last night at 12:30 and turned on the TV to find out that he was the newcoach at UA. He then called a personal friend who is a sportswriter and told him that he has not made any agreement. He has not talked to his family, has not visited the facilities (He visited Texas tech 3 times to view the facilities before turning them down), or talked with anyone. Now a TV station in WV is reporting that The officials at WVU are doing everything they can to keep him. That the Coach and the University have been in negotiations all morning, and that UA have given him a 2PM deadline to either accept or reject their offer.

This all coming from WJOX radio in Birmingham.

(better than Chavis)

This was necessary to make your point? You sir, are baiting....
:shades:

You're right, it was necessary and it does look like I was cracking on Chavis. I was more trying to stress how good Shannon is to people who only half-heartedly follow college football. Shannon's real good.
