Only those that live amongst the Bammers truly understand. It's kinda a Gorilla's in the Mist type but thing but unlike Ms. Goodall, I doubt I'll ever really love em.

I've heard from a lot of Alabama people that most high school coaches hate CRP, and not because he wins, but because he's a total dbag (their words). No high school coach in the state would send a kid to him at Alabama.

Coach Probst is going to his SEVENTH straight state title game tomorrow. He has been rumored as a candidate should an offensive coordinator position come available, but to jump from high school to D1 college head coach is a little far fetched, even down here in bammer!!

safe to say, no successful div1 football coach is interested in the bama job.

they will end up with someone's OC or a Div 11 coach is my bet.

Okay, I have a real question here. Does anyone know if Bama has made any unoffical inquiries with Cutcliffe? Seriously, with the number of big name coaches that have turned them down already, Cutcliffe could possibly come in to play with Bama if this continues much longer.

They could easily land Steve Kragthorpe and some other mid major HCs ... I think.

I am going to have to really laugh at my friend and his dad. His father is a bama booster and "supposedly" had intimate knowledge of the goings on. He told me it was a done deal as well. I really wonder what killed the whole deal?

Report from RR is that WVU sweetened the deal but it was mostly some soul searching and discussions with his wife plus the outpouring of support from WVU fans that convinced him to stay.

The thing is AD Mal Moore said that they were going after a "Proven, capable HEAD COACH, that has a championship, or has played for a championship" He painted himself into a corner that there are only a few coaches that fit the criteria.

What killed the deal is RCC said no.

Bama believes theirs is the best job in football and no one would actually say no to them.So when they offer the supporters all just assume its a done deal.Their arrogance makes them look like fools right now.
