Richmond is taking down Confederate statues: Is this the end for other Confederate memorials?

Because the Atlantic is such an unbiased well educated source with no agenda to push whatsoever. The only myth that is
actually circulated is that Lee was staunchly anti slavery. He admitted the sin in it but lacked the will to act on it. He was also probably more humane compared to the rest of the country in terms of how he treated the blacks. Kindly for his era and geographic location? Maybe. But the abolitionist idea is a joke. He's probably the finest military mind our country has ever seen in the field. I'll argue that with you all you like

"The blacks"????

Is that you Donny?

Revisionist history by loser, traitors, cowards, rapists and murderers.
Factual history. You don't have to like it, but don't lie to yourself. It's like those who don't want to believe Lincoln was a white supremist. He wasn't a member of the KKK, but he said he thought blacks were an inferior race.

People put way to much stock on history. It's the past. Good, bad, it happened. It is what it was, and lying about it achieves nothing.

Ah, states' rights. Seems like we've heard this one before.

Do you think it's something the federal government should regulate? Should they be telling states what monuments are and are not acceptable? Not sure why you would see letting the states makes their own decisions as a bad thing? Should it not be up to the people who live there?

Of course he think the fed gov should be mandating their removal.

Don't get your panties in a knot. It was a joke.

First, I go commando. Second, it was a legit question. Should federal government be regulating what monuments are acceptable for states?

Haven't given it any thought one way or another. Just found it funny that a Southerner, when asked a question about an issue that touches on the Confederacy and it's connection to slavery, says "states' rights".
