With the negative Nancy's every loss is met with gloom and doom and fire the coach. With the sunshine pumpers every win is met with statements of how all the flaws are fixed and the coach is the greatest ever. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

I’ve seen way more of the “we are paying for this crap” or “the game has passed him by” even mid game than I’ve seen posters saying “all flaws are fixed” or “Barnes is greatest coach ever”.

Most of us don’t obsess over Barnes salary.

It’s one thing to be disappointed in our team but bringing up the same old argument again & again is going to get annoying over time.

Why so surprised?

Dude I’ve been here through good and bad. I add my constructive criticism as I feel needed. I’ll still stand by the fact that Barnes is overpaid for his performance . Let’s see how the next few weeks play out. We were fortunate UF didn’t have their best player today,

Put me on record...I am still very happy that Rick Barnes is the HBC at UT. Anybody criticizing the results obviously has not been a fan of this program for very long. A lot of sub-mediocrity in the last several decades.

A 4-seed in the SEC Tourney is not sub-mediocre. And the recruiting continues to be way better than anything we’ve ever witnessed.

Well I'd be glad if he retired tomorrow, but only if we could buy a billy donovan(or like) away from the bulls.

I find it more enjoyable to have discussions about the pros & cons of this team with level headed posters instead of the same dumb arguments with the doom & gloom crowd.

Yep. The notion of firing him is ridiculous as is the notion that he's irreplaceable. The truth is in the middle of those two arguments. Barnes is a good, not elite, coach. He'll have us in the tournament on a pretty regular basis, and he'll put some guys in the NBA along the way. Chances are, though, we won't be doing much damage in March. To me, having grown up on Buzz ball, those are acceptable results.

Not once have I ever mentioned “ firing” CRB. Just like Bison said, I think he is a good coach, maybe one of the top 2-3 we have ever had. At the same time, we have never had the 4 th highest paid coach in the country until CRB So I just expect superior results. So far he has underperformed, that’s all.

This is a reasonable take. Of course, many won't see it that way.

What's wrong with expecting better results? Nothing
