Sure. It’s well documented that he’s had some stinkers in the NCAA tournament over the past 15~ years. The Michigan and Oregon State losses here were very ugly. However, if the argument is that Barnes doing well or poorly in the conference tournament is indicative of how his team performs in the ncaa tournament, then I don’t think that it is an an accurate argument. His only Final Four team all those years ago in 2003 lost in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. We won the conference tournament in 2022 and exited the NCAAT in the first weekend.

By no means am I suggesting that this team goes to the Final Four. I’ve said multiple times today that my confidence in this team is shot after today and that I fully expect a first weekend exit. Still, CRB’s teams exiting the conference tournament early isn’t an indicator that the same will happen in the ncaa tournament.

I think Barnes is great at coaching fundamentals. This issue I believe Barnes has with winning more in March, is that he doesn’t seem to inspire his teams to have that swagger type of confidence. A swagger mentality many times will take you farther than just talent and fundamentals alone. Just my opinion.

I think we play tight and when take a smack in the mouth early, we haven’t shown the moxy to battle back

Exhausted by March. Please. They are 18-22 year olds. As an Army retired pilot and to give such a BS excuse is pathetic. Hey soldiers, take the night off because your exhausted. lol we lose the fight.

That is just something I've just heard from numerous coaches and players that have mentioned about Barnes coaching from over the years. Thank you for your service,and you're right about the military,and glad it's held to a much higher standard.

The biggest issue I have with Barnes this year is his loyalty to JJJ and Vescov. Obviously there’s something going on with V, guys a back to back all SEC player and this year looks like a freshman who is playing with no confidence on offense. He has one of the best pump fakes in the game but never pulls up for a wide open 16 footer, he takes 1 more dribble and kicks it out. 5 years and it’s the same crap. JJJ is and always has been overrated. He has moments on defense but he’s an offensive liability. Below average jump shot, no explosiveness going to the rim, he’s just another guy on the court. If you can’t contribute in points them get your butt on the boards and get 10 rebounds a game. Barnes should have started limiting their minutes back in January, if our depth is that bad then Barnes did a great job at hiding it.
