Hey BTO, how about you convince me what a great coach Barnes is. Help explain why he is paid over $5M a year?

Would love to, but trying to hire a new basketball coach and telling them the bar is Elite 8 or you’re out is gonna shrink that pool of candidates by quite a bit.

Don’t want a coach that doesn’t have that expectation for himself. We’ve had enough of those coaches already. Pearl was the only one who set that expectation for himself

No matter how much he's paid, Barnes is not the coach to take us deep into any tournament.
His greatest accomplishments as a coach are in his past, not his future and the game has pretty much passed him by.
Land all the 4- and 5-star recruits you want, but if you can't get 4 or 5 star performance out of them, what's the point?
UT is paying Final Four-level money to a coach who clearly isn't going to come anywhere within sniffing distance.
The good thing is that Danny White is smart enough to know this.

Improved offense??? We shot 34% and had 5 more turnovers than assists.

We played well defensively and SEC road wins are always a positive but this offense is still a tire fire

Lmao! This thread is bonkers. Yes Barnes can be a better coach of the talent he recruits. He doesn't encourage young players to expand their game. Relies on skill set and that's it. Defense and rebounding is a great foundation, but you still have to have solid developent on the offensive side as well. He doesn't seem to find a solid rotation with his squads until it is it too far gone in a season
