I agree with you, but to be fair, a lot of people call those folks out. I know I personally get on Amb and Darth on a regular basis. The thing is, we know Darth and Amb aren’t fans. Coach is a fan and (I think) would want to make the situation better. We have to deal with the likes of Darth and Amb because the admin of the forum allow them to be here, and they operate under the parameters and rules set by the board.

Dude, no one said don't text players you have coached, friends or family members. If I go up to my wife and say, "honey you look sexy in that dress" all is well. If I go up to a 20 yr old college sophomore and say the same thing, that would be a a BIG problem. You don't seem to grasp the key distinction between such scenarios and that is also problematic.

You do know it violates UTK policy to recruit unless you are a coach? A few days ago, I posted the rules directly from UTK Athletics.

I have players in several universities and am in no way asked to be or designated to be a recruiter for any of them. TN just happens to be my favorite program.

I have not been asked by any UT staff to Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
What I do I do on my own and in my own capacity.
I am up front with anyone I speak/email/text that I am not an official rep for TN.
No rule has been broken

Any updates on Rickea? I heard last night TX is getting a new arena and it's set to open in April of this year so I'm sure that'll be attractive.

A few rules have been violated-

-judgement
-common sense
-good taste

The twitter post insulted the young lady, for no good reason.
The twitter post reflected badly on the poster and on the university he claims to support.
The twitter post obviously did nothing to encourage her to become a Lady Vol.

Since this interference has been going on for years, it makes you wonder how many potential recruits we've lost because of this "influence." It's precisely the kind of thing that would raise red flags for parents.

It's no one's fault but your own. If you think you are being shamed now, just wait if Jackson chooses to go elsewhere. You are not going to hear the end of it, and rightfully so. You set yourself up for it, and by saying you will continue to try to contact recruits in the future...well that's just disturbing to say the least.

Makes me wonder how many more of these over-involved nosy nancy sideline coaches programs have to put up with. Where there's one roach there's many . . .

Why would he do it? Past incidents have shown signs of "any attention is better than no attention". I'm curious how we came to know about the tweet in question. I guess someone on twitter who's also on this board saw it? I ask bc I would not rule out this guy from having arranged it himself. Loves himself a thread all about him!
