RIP Twitter

One thing I have noticed is that the likes vs comments have evened out. Odd development. Dumb things said by Kimmel now have less likes and more comments.

From 300 accounts. Seems disingenuous to imply the platform went rampant with hate speech when it appears to be bots. An issue raised by Elon and preexisted him.
Well, even if it was bots, that is what happened. It is Elon's baby now, so that is on him.

You think if a hardcore socialist bought Twitter, they would get the same deference?
Would the hardcore socialist have expressed concern over bots? If so, I'd have the same opinion. Not sure if you would.

When it comes to a LeBron James, I'd wager he would state "this is why the purchase is good. To get rid of this" and have a different take.

Of course I would. You are assuming I have an issue with Elon buying Twitter. I. Do. Not. Care. So Twitter becomes more like VNPF. Okay, cool.

Who would pay to be verified?
Some people will absolutely pay it. It will be like the infowars lawyers or other marginal types who trade on “just asking questions” and convincing ignorant people that outlandish claims are legitimate.

This seems like a fundamental misunderstanding of the business, to me. I think the check mark is a service to casual users. It makes it easy to distinguish somebody like Donald Trump’s real account from a convincing parody. Asking the verified user to pay for it, if true, seems to misunderstand the primary beneficiary.

- LeBron James

What an absolute idiot. Good thing he can dribble, and is close to 7 feet tall….

He didn't say hate speech is not protected by the constitution, which is the inference you guys made so you can pucker your butts about it. He's logically correct that hate speech is not free speech, but I don't think that's what he was trying to say because nobody needs to make that point. There are a few different ways you can try to guess his meaning. You aren't free to use hate speech because it's unacceptable. Hate speech isn't OK just because we have freedom of speech in this country. Or, you can conclude that he meant the government can/will/should be able to punish you for hate speech. There is no context here that would lead you to conclude he was talking about the government's involvement.

The concept of "free speech" is much broader than what the government's involvement entails.

I think he meant the bolded. Are you free to say the N word openly and keep your job? Probably not.

Not that comment. But anything that purports to argue that Trump won, or the 1/6 attack was no big deal, that is.
Dude you just labeled Hogg a nazi and you don’t see the irony. At some point the bully always loses, your side is losing. How is it that you got everyone in place to do exactly what you want, accomplish everything you want, and epically fail? Because this is still America and not everyone can be bribed with free or bullied with name calling. It’s old
