RIP Twitter

See, thing that has been learned is... it does not have to be believable misinformation, it just has to be misinformation. When you lose trust in one part of a system the system breaks down. At least, it slows down. It can be restored. Jack was smart to get out.

What progressives think will happen at Twitter HQ tomorrow

He’s going to have to make some to get his dust back. It’s going to be interesting to see what they will be. I would guess he’s going to try to raise the quality of the user base (verified accounts, less bots) for advertising and may go to a paid tier.

Twitter is a fortune waiting to be harvested, but I don’t think it would be possible to do it as a public company because there is going to be a huge change in financials that a company managing quarter to quarter just cannot make.

That is a very astute comment.

Over/Under on how many liberal woke idiots get told to leave the first day he takes over?
Zero unless they specifically do something stupid, and that's the way it should be.

Edit: I originally assumed you were talking about Twitter users. If you're talking about Twitter employees, that could be a different answer. He will likely take actions to balance the political bias in the company.

Have you seen the list of books being banned?

Not all of these books are extolling "liberal talking points".

"Out of Darkness" by Ashley Hope Perez was banned in 16 Texas school districts just because it depicted an interracial romance between a black teenage boy and a Mexican-American girl in the 1930's... and it had the audacity to detail some prejudice that they encountered - from both blacks and whites.

Evidently, this is considered "white shaming" by conservatives now.
Every one of them like that? “Not all” is kind of vague. Not familiar with Ms (I assume) Perez’s book, so I’ll take your word that it’s a straightforward romance novel that is integral in education.

The problem with Musk is the opposite. He is going to allow it all. It's turned the twitter platform into another commercial operation. How can you trust it now? When EVERYONE is allowed to post what ever stupid chit they want.
Sounds eerily like America. 🤔

One liberal’s misinformation is another’s valid theory. This Scarlet Letter/heresy rhetoric ran amok in this country before it was a country.

Surprised you dont spend more time over here.
On Twitter? I peruse more and more these last couple. I revolutionized the art of getting “vacations” on VN, so I didn’t want to brave those waters too much on that platform. 😉 Got a host of cool types I follow on there and becoming more and more interactive. The sports and entertainment information is unmatched on there and why offshoots have basically failed imo.

Edit: Oh wait…you mean Politics Forum! I should delve more. Just not invested in swaying (or not) others core beliefs…political or otherwise. It is fun in sits like this. Maybe I’ll visit more often.

Hmmm... did I say that? No, I don't believe I did...

It is fair to point out that in the last few years, conservatives have become very sensitive to literature which depicts acts of racism by white people - even when those books are 170 year old classics such as "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe. I understand that you probably aren't familiar with that book either, but it actually did have an impact on attitudes toward African-Americans and slavery. To ban such a book now, is just ridiculous... but Republicans want to do it
