Since the acquisition by Musk, prior to any actual changes, leftists' panic over Musk's announced commitment to broader speech and open source of Twitter code is hilarious. Just a decade ago, and for many decades prior to that, were champions of free speech, against censorship (more speech is better to combat bad ideas), and transparency. This move would have been right up their ally. In fact, Jack Dorsey came out in a thread and stated that this move by Twitter is getting closer to fixing his original sin (his biggest regret) of turning Twitter over to Wall Street. This was one of the reasons the sell actually went through.
