I'm not sure if Bourn is really that much more valuable than Pence, but this is interesting, nonetheless.

I can say, however, that I feel that the Braves got a much better deal than the Phillies did for Pence.

I don't know. When you take overall value into account, Bourn may very well be the better player. It's close, though, for sure.

I said he is a better Willy Taveras and that is a very valuable baseball player. You would never catch me having Fast Willy near the top 15 OF in the NL.

Without question the Braves got the better deal, the phillies got ripped off IMO.

The main thing is he fills 3 different roles the Braves really needed, and that's the bottom line.
1.) a good CFer
2.) good leadoff man
3.) a major threat on the base paths.

The only thing he doesn't have that the Braves also needed is a power bat, but all in all I'm excited for this addition.

In their glee, Braves fans are overlooking a simple truth. The reason they were able to "steal" Bourn is that nobody in baseball thought that he was valuable enough to warrant offering more than Atlanta did.
